She's An AR...Teest!

Who's the "She"? Well it's my Granddaughter, Summer. She's a freshman and this is her first year of art and she had her drawings and paintings in the art show at the High School tonight.  It was also the academic awards too...she and her older sister both got academic awards tonight....a good night all around!
This is Summer....smiles all the time and lights up a room when she enters! Notice her hair color? Her sister dyed Summer's hair pink and blue to match Summer's prom dress. Prom is this weekend....But I digress! Here are her entries.  I think she did a great job and considering she just started drawing and painting this school year,  I'm impressed! I'm also a bit biased!
This is a little blurry...
This is Summer's best friend, Bailey.
Eagle or angry bird..hmmmm..I'm going with eagle.
I have no clue who this is! The school's mascot or their team name is the "Mapleton  Mounties"  Outside the school is this carving of a Canadian Mountie...I'm thinking it was probably a student who carved this...not sure, but it wasn't Summer...and we don't live in Canada , but I think it's pretty cool anyway!
For all my Canadian friends!

Yaya..I don't think you are one bit biased. She is a wonderful artist..and only bound to get better with time.
Oh..and by the way, she is the spitting image of my husband's granddaughter. Amazing. They could be sisters.
Hugs..
Mona
p.s. Yes..I think you should get out there. It's such an adventure.

Hello, dear YaYa! Well, as the old song goes, "here comes Summer" because I predict great things for your granddaughter. She is beautiful, excels academically and has genuine talent as an artist. I can hardly believe she has only been drawing and painting since the start of the school year. You have every right to be proud of her. Thank you for sharing her outstanding artwork with us tonight!

I didn't even notice her hair until you mentioned it. It just blends into her shirt -- kind of cool! And great artwork, as well!

I can see why you're so biased. I would be, too. Summer is a beautiful girl and she's quite talented as well. I'm sure she will be stunning and a standout at prom with her cute hair. I know your proudness! Bask in it!

Beautiful girl and a fine artist. I think that she has your smile. Only been drawing a year? She probably will surprise you at every turn. Congratulations on both granddaughter getting awards.

Have a great weekend, gee I can't believe it's weekend already!

Great job, Summer! And it definitely looks like an eagle to me. :)

Summer is such a beautiful name. Her hair will fade the blue and pink in a couple of weeks.
Her art work is really nice. She will not have to worry when she is about to decorate her walls when she has her own home or even give some as house warming gift to others.

You've got some real talent in that beautiful granddaughter. WOW!! This from someone who loves beauty but has not a hint of artistic talent. BTW, she is a cutie too!

Biased? Probably. But talented? Your Summer is definitely that! and smart, too. Congratulations on both your granddaughters' achievements. Summer is also a beautiful young lady and has the SWEETest expression.

Well, I'm impressed too and I'm not biased. (Well not like you, any way.) What especially impresses me is that she has managed to use so many different media and create great work in each one. Well done, Summer.
