Good Morning Tonight!

Sunday morning at 2am everyone who has to do the time change thing should shout all together: "Good Morning!" Don't ask me why, I just thought we could all bond over this silly need to "Spring Forward". Frankly, I'm not even sure why we need to do it or if we actually lose or gain an hour anyway.  I don't mind the lighter later result of the Spring forward...but when it's happening this early in March having daylight in the evening is a waste since I can't plant anything, or mow anything, or work in the yard. (Except I could do some doggy cleanup I guess)  The real bummer is having my morning commute plunged back into darkness for a bit.  I was just getting used to seeing my world in detail before spending my day in rooms with no windows!  This week I took a picture every morning so I could remember the light until it reappears in a few weeks. I hope it's only a few weeks!
Monday and I caught the glimpse of a sunrise and a promise of a clear day.
Tuesday and I caught the clear day leaving and the promise of clouds and snow approaching.
Wednesday and I caught the huge (I'm saying this with tongue in cheek!) snowfall that had everyone ready for the end of the world as we know it....fortunately for us, unfortunately for teachers and students, it was a fizzle of only a few inches.  Come on people, we live up North and a little snow shouldn't bother anyone!
Thursday and I caught the result of the melting of the Wednesday snow...alas...snow was a "no show".
Friday and I caught my coworker Shay with a big TGIF smile as we walked across the parking lot, down the sidewalk, across the street, through the hospital parking lot, into work!
But not before we stopped to see the sun peeping from behind the trees on the horizon.
And not before we rushed to get the cross walk light before it turned, making us wait longer!  So don't forget to change your clocks, get to bed early so when it's dark again in the AM you'll be ready.  Good Morning Tonight!

I do hate the dark in the morning again, but maybe you and Jack could take a walk in the scary woods in the evening?

you will be glad to have those pics in a few weeks when it is dark, dark, and darker in the morn. I don't really see the need for DST but then again I'm not a farmer.

I'm not out and about that early so I don't mind having the daylight last longer.. even in March. I know I'm in the minority though. Fun to see your series of pics.

We were just talking about this last night. Kyle prefers daylight savings time. I wonder what would happen if we forever altered the world by losing an hour?

I hate the dark anyway I feel so much better in the summer when the sun comes up early and goes to bed late. we didn't get any out of the storm that hammered south of us in Mass. We got a dusting. We are usually the ones to get the snow and they don't get any or much. Kind of glad it is diffrent this year.

I hate getting up in the dark. The time change does get us closer to actual spring but I forgot until a few days ago.

I wish that we didn't change the time at all. When my son was Arizona, I learned that they don't. I wonder why the rest of us have to!

The only time I like a time change is when I get to sleep an extra hour.

Hang in there, it won't be long now that the daylight will be longer. At least we are getting some sunshine and blue skies these last two days. I even heard some birds chirping outside and the snow is melting.

Soon, I'll be looking for daffodils popping out.

I hope that you are having a day off today to enjoy the sunshine. Bake something sinful so we can drool over it...
Hugs,

JB

I'm with you on the time change and wish they hadn't changed it to be even earlier in the year. I love the cozy evenings until it really does start warming up. Getting that hour back in October always makes me a happy camper. But even then, the clock change messes me up for about a week after.

I'm a fan of spring ahead...although it does make it harder to get up in the morning when it's still dark out. Good morning to you tonight too!

I wish we didn't have to change at all.....l would like to have daylight savings all the time.

I wrote a VERY long comment on your blog yesterday. When I tried to publish it, it all went away. I was so frustrated, Dick came running when I started to yell. I was really carrying on.....Dick says he thinks it was so long that it didn't print any of it. Maybe....I just don't know, but I was pretty upset. Is there such a thing as making it so long that it doesn't print?????

Hee, hee. Got up this morning at the new 6 a.m. to go out for the Sunday paper. No one there. It spooked me and I felt disoriented...I need the other cars in the dark to tell me where I am. The papers hadn't yet arrived. Bummer. So I went home, got back in bed and got up an hour later. Felt great.

I feel sorry for kids and for pets. I don't know whose idea was this but day light savings time makes every body tired.

I'm want this time change stuff to stop! They started it to help farmers, but farmers have lights now, right?! I think every mom would agree that this has to stop! lol

I was actually looking forward to this time change, thinking that my kiddos might sleep in and then not be as tired at church. Of course it didn't work, they got up an hour earlier than usual and Ellie was asleep when I went to pick her up from nursery. This morning I really missed my hour.
