My Favorite Saying

The previous post gave a good idea of how our Saturday started. How it ended brought me back to my favorite saying: "Are you kidding me?"...We finished running errands, and then went up and cleaned our Church...everyone takes turns doing this. We came home all hot and sweaty. Entering the house I noticed it didn't seem very cool. Jack then realized the heat pump wasn't working..."Are you kidding me?"...So after all the problems with our electric and getting that back in order, now during the hottest spell we've had in a long time..(last summer was not as hot), we lose the AC? Just shoot me. We call the repair people and of course it's the weekend and no response. So we're stuck with a not so cool home. I had already invited the kids to come over Sunday afternoon for a cook out since I had to cancel the July 4th one due to lack of electric..Well, I wasn't going to cancel on this. We went ahead with our plans and everyone came over in the late afternoon and the house really wasn't too uncomfortable and the air outside had cooled down a bit. So we ate, talked, and enjoyed watching the kids play. They had fun and didn't seem to mind the heat. Having a few water games did help! The repair guy came this morning and it seems to be working fine now. Thank goodness for little pleasures. And to top it off, we finally had some rain. It didn't make it any nicer temp wise, but our gardens are smiling! The only snag in the day was little Addy getting stung by a wasp. There was a nest under one of our plastic outdoor chairs. "Are you kidding me?" She was a real trooper and went on and had a good time. I caught a few pics of Anthony and Cameron having a water gun fight. It turned out to be a nice evening.

And the race is on!
Why can't I have just a smidge of their energy?
Ahhhhhhh! The laughing and screams can be heard all the way to the Creepy Woods! Get a close up of Cameron's face. It says it all.
Gotcha! Big brother captures little brother!
After the water gun chase Cameron give the "thumbs up" sign not realizing his brother is behind him squirting water on his head. Boys...

The heat may have bothered you but it didn't seem to be bothering those rowdy boys. What a fun time. I could sit and watch children play for hours. So darn cute!

Hope the A/C is working now!

Yikes! I can see why you need a journal like mine! What's next - snow in summer and no heating!? ;)

It is so fun to see the kids with all of their energy. I with you why can't I have just a bit of that. we are getting hot here but no air conditioning it never stays hot long enough for it. I do have it at work.

The heat is heading this way according to the weather girl. But no A/C here. (I'll be cranky then) Glad you got it fixed without having to wait to long.
The kids look like they are having a blast. I hope this is the end of your repairs so you can enjoy the rest of the short summer.

I'm glad you're all fixed up. I hope you have a rest from all your repairs for awhile.

There is nothing like the chase of water fights. I'm glad you had a good time despite the hubbub.

I am always amazed at how temperature does't affect how much fun kids can have. They create their own ways of "cooling off" on the hottest days, and ignore the wet and cold when playing in the winter. Oh to have that much energy and the ability to seek the "fun" over feeling the "uncomfortable".
Thanks for your continued words of encouragement, Yaya. I truly appreciate you comments.

you're right...if only to have even a part of their energy and to take life for every minute it's worth. *sigh* I'm sorry you have to deal with the heat over there, I hope you get some relief soon...perhaps you should get yourself a water gun and join in the fun!
take care!

These kids are so friggin' cute. Gahhhhh. I am always the one running around with my little cousins because I still have the energy of a five-year old. I'm ridiculously hyper all the time.

Cleaning the church...never my favorite Saturday morning! (But ya do what ya gotta do!) Glad your A/C is up and running. Didn't look like anyone was having a bad time because of it. You have such a perfect piece of property for those fun activities. Just like a park!

Are water guns the best invention ever? We have a sack full of them and pull them out on hot days when our nieces and nephews come to visit.

I came very close to getting a red wasp sting yesterday when I was working at the barn.

I read your blog yesterday but did not leave a comment as there was a lot on my mind.
The pictures are great. God bless those kids. They seem carefree and fun loving.
Thanks for your support. I am going to try to be carefree as well.

So glad your latest mishap was fixed quickly and easily. It sure looks like you made the best of the heat though.

These faces are adorable. Kids seem to cope with heat so much better than the rest of us. I hope your cooling woes are over soon.

I immediately did a close up and burst out laughing. That child was absolutely having the time of his little life! Aren't grands wonderful!
I just found a ladybug tent like new at a garage sale and now I cannot wait for the little grands to come for a visit. It even has the little feelers ...creepy but the kids will love it. Has the roll up windows on the sides..AND the door...all screened in. TOO darned cute and even has a floor in it. Yep..can't wait to have it tested!!!
Hugs!!

(who cares about the heat when family is having such fun!!)
