I had to watch the Royal Wedding this morning. Thankfully the time difference made it easy to watch while getting ready for work. I thought the Bride looked gorgeous and the Groom very handsome indeed. A fairy tale come true. Atleast we hope so. However, us commoners had no choice but to go to work, but once I was there we had a little celebration of our own. Everyone brought in something English to eat..we had scones and many other delights. And whenever we could sneek into the break room we took a peek at the telly...
You cannot attend a Royal wedding without a hat..so we had the required head gear on display. The break room was filled with all kinds of English goodies to feast on while watching the ceremony.
Here's Lisa sitting around the breakfast Royal Celebration banquet..Samaritan Hospital style.
It wouldn't be British without "Fish and Chips" now would it?
I had to show my contribution to the royal feast...Texas sheet cake made with, what else, English walnuts of course.
We had to have some "bubbly"...
Ok, so I am a bit embarrassed by posting this. There are many things that just aren't right about it. !) I can't believe I took a pic of it 2)Seriously, the name is so wrong..I mean "Heinz"..does that sound British to you? 3)I actually tried some and I just have to say...Mmmmm...Jolly Good!

You guys are hilarious! I laughed through the whole post! I'm glad you saved the best for last!
Yes, of course, we all need to take a peek at that dress, and at all that celebration. From the look of it, your people did your part keeping the cheerio up.
Hahahahaha!
now that's the spirit! lol!
what is that last one you posted?
I loved the wedding ... sigh... so lovely, especially the horses.;)
Your fish and chips look interesting. :)
Haha you are too funny and cute! I am not going to lie, I did get a chuckle out of the last photograph. My boyfriend is from England and he took the day off to watch it! I however, still had to save the world at work (trying to make myself feel better..) and missed it. I've been scrounging up as much footage as I can get but it's still not the same. So girl, I feel you! x
Love it! And what in the world is in that Heinz container?!
For all those that want to know what is in that final can..it's a soft cake that tastes like a spice cake..it has raisins, cinnamon and I think nuts...it was good though! I says you can microwave it and serve it warm. I've never seen it in our stores, but then I'm wouldn't know what to ask for! I might get thrown out of the place!
Hillary from the blog, "positive letters" always writes cheers on her comments. It is cute.
My kids are sometimes admire the British accent.
All in all it was nice ceremony yesterday.
Laughing out loud at 'fish and chips'. HILARIOUS!!!!!
What a fun group you all must be at work. Glad you enjoyed yourselves!
=)
PS. Loved your "English" food!
when I sent kent out to the store for scones- he texted me a picture of the spotted dick and said he was getting that instead!! I like your kind of humor:)
I don't even know what "pip pip" means.
And spotted dick?
Is that a real thing?
I like it.

I watched the show "Prenant in Heels" and they had a British friend they were trying to impress to be the godfather. The owner of the shop, Rosie Pope, an English gal, told them the menu which contained "spotted dick". She said if you want to impress, you do tea (made a certain way) sandwiches, scones and spotted dick. It looks good. Who brought that and where'd they get it???
Too funny. It sounds like a fun place to work.
What fun. I love your group's interpretation of British food - the fish and chips in particular. :-)
You work with some fun people...so cute that you guys brought in english snacks for the royal wedding! And, the last item...I've never heard or seen that before!
Your celebration of the big British Day sounded really fun. We did catch glimpses of it, but forgot to tape it, so had to depend on whatever came on and I do believe we saw the actualy nuptials enough times. It was fun though. I think Katie is very beautiful and seems so down to earth. I think the Brits are going to love her.
Ha!! What fun!! I too laughed and laughed!!
Loved the "spotted dick"!!
Congrats on your POTW award
Hugs
