Its' May! It's May! The lovely Month of May!

Yesterday was May 1st..May Day! When I was a kid we made baskets and gave flowers to our Moms, or neighbors...usually old ladies.. I guess I fall into that category now! Addie spent the day with me while Amanda, Phil and Alexis went shopping. She found this dogwood blossom was the perfect May Day flower to pick.
Alexis spotted these fluffy flowers and thought they were so beautiful! I didn't want to ruin her impression of this weed so we put them in a pretty "vase" and set them on the outside deck table to enjoy. She did enjoy blowing the seeds off and I told her to make a wish when she did it. We haven't sprayed the lawn with any chemicals to get rid of dandelions because we need to find something that won't make the dog and cat sick. So she can pick as many as she wants!
You can see Alexis's beautiful bouquet on the table...I'm not sure what the guys are looking at but can you guess what Eddy is spying?
Mmmmm...Lex enjoys a YaYa cookie special after all that weed/flower picking!

So where you skipping as you typed the title of your entry? We could have a race as to who could grow the most pretty puffy flowers! May is the best today with the light rain and green grass it just smelled like Spring! Have a great week.

Thanks for visiting my site - glad to meet you! I notice that we have several things in common: Chicago, grandkids, love of nature, not wanting to spray weeds because of the dogs and kids, and boxers (if that's what Eddy is!).

Ah, Camelot! You know that is exactly what we did when I was little. We spent weeks ahead making those Easter baskets out of construction paper and then we hung them on the doorknobs, rang the bell and ran away. Someone from Russia spread the word that it was a Communist Holiday and that ended that.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I enjoy your comments.

Sweet granddaughter with fun dandelions. I used to love to blow on them and scatter the seeds!
