The Unexpected

This year just keeps throwing up on us. Yesterday my sweet hubby was life flighted to University hospital in Cleveland.  He'd been feeling ill since Saturday and thought it was just a stomach bug. He put up with it until Wednesday night and the pain was too much. Vomiting too.  A CT scan showed blood clots had cut off blood  to the small bowel.  After emergency surgery to see how bad it was, they were thankfully able to remove the dead bowel, put it back together and send him to ICU.   He will have another surgery tomorrow because they left his abdomen open (covered by a wound vac) so they will take another look and make sure it all looks good and hopefully close him up. We are hoping to get out of the hospital next week. Maybe Wednesday if all's well. He's very lucky but not out of the woods yet. Prayers for him are appreciated.

Oh YaYa, what next in your world, dear friend? 2020 has been an extremely challenging year, one that you will remember the rest of your life. I am so sorry to learn that Jack has experienced another medical emergency. I hope his follow-up procedure goes as planned tomorrow. Hopefully by the time Thanksgiving arrives he will be well on the road to recovery and able to enjoy the holiday. Yes indeed, dear friend, my prayers are with Jack and with you and the rest of your family as you endure even more anxiety and uncertainty. Please keep us posted.

So very sorry to read this Kathy! That's scary stuff...and of course you, your husband, and the rest of your family will be in my prayers. It's fortunate that he went in when he did.... Since you used the term "we" it sounds as though they have allowed you to be with him? That is a good thing. Here no visitors...I couldn't even accompany my son into the ER. :-( Hang in there....this wretched year is almost over....and we all can only pray and hope the next will be better (although I am beginning to doubt that too sigh). Hugs ~Robin~

Prayers that all will be good. But also thankful for the advancing medical 'abilities' forging forward. This is all news to me, and doesn't sound like fun at all. So prayers and good thoughts y'all's way.
