Hot Coals On A Cold Night!

What better way to shake off the political jibberish and tension than a nice outdoor fire in the fire ring.
Throw in a  juicy hot dog....can you see it? Can you smell it's deliciousness?
Maybe toasted marshmellows are more your style?....Add a Hershey bar and graham crackers...yummmo!
Mix in some 11yr old Scouts...and one leader/helper....(Thanks Jack  for all your fire knowledge you gave the boys tonight!)

Oh, and don't forget me! The temps were pretty chilly and the sky was crystal clear with tons of stars. The fire was warm and the boys had a fun lesson on fire safety and how to start a fire with various mediums....like cotton balls and vaseline...or Pringles potato chips or even Fritos.  My fav way?  Good ol' firelogs and lots of dry wood! And it helps to have one handsome nice hubby to do it for you! Shhhh..don't tell my Scouts!

I LOVE fires and fireplaces. My favourite part of cold weather. And yes, husband-made flames are best of all. PS - Those s'mores look GOOD!

This brings back lots of memories when the kids were small. SWe had lots of marshmallow and wiener roasting on sticks in the fire pit.
You are a lucky gal to still be part of it with the kids.

Have a great weekend as I know you will.
Hugs, JB

What a wonderful evening that was! I'm sure that Jack did a great job teaching the boys about fire. I love a big bonfire, but haven't experienced one for so many years that I can't rememeber the last one. You are so lucky to be able to have such a neat fire pit in your own backyard. I had a firepit once, but that was over forty years ago. It was right by our pool and oh how I did love to swim at night with the fire pit blazing.

I also loved the picture of you, Kathy. I wish you would post more of them.

And yes, I could almost taste those hot dogs. I do like them cooked over a campfire, but Dick LOVES them. One of his favorite foods in the whole world are Farmer John hot dogs and he eats them a little too often when he is trying to lose weight. The S'mores sound good too. It has been so long since we have had any of that.

Thanks for a fun post, even though it did make me hungry and it is almost 9:00p.m. and I can't have any more food tonight. Oh well.............

Well, aren't YOU the little cutie?! That is a great photo of you and I see that your name is Kathy, and I am not sure that I knew that! (Remember the Chatty Cathy doll? I MIGHT have been called that a time or two in my life.)
These photos are wonderful and I can just smell that hot dog.
My son was a Boy Scout and we had so much fun!
Your hair looks so good, it makes me want to get a cute, short cut like yours. I will direct my hairdresser to your blog! xx
