I had an early morning meeting today. I needed to be at Church by 8am..I only live about 1min. from the Chapel. So I'm driving down my country, snow covered drive..the one pictured in my header. (I was going to put the picture of it here, but that would be redundant.) Anyway, as I was going out the lane I saw something in the path ahead of me. I pulled a little to the right thinking a branch was there. Only it wasn't a branch, it was this:
I stupidly stared at it..and stared at it. What the heck?? This is truly a Godfather moment. As you can see it's a deer leg. Well, part of a leg. Then I stupidly start looking around. I mean, really. What did I think I would find..a three legged deer? A Mafia hit man? I then backed the car up to the house to tell Jack about it. He stuck his head out of the house and wondered why I was coming back. My reply: "Hey Hon, there's a deer leg in the driveway"..His reply:"OK". Then I drove off to Church and was a few minutes late. My excuse: "Sorry, there was a deer leg in my driveway." Their reply: "OK". The End

oh so sad do you think a dog did it? I hope it did get shot and not killed bya a dog. but I would be wondering where the other parts were. did you check your bed? ha

Oh my, the vagaries of tough weather. Where does the quote about the gun and the cannoli comes from?
Rosaria, the quote comes from the movie "The Godfather", only it's suppose to say "Leave the gun, take the cannoli"...I don't need a gun, but I would like the cannoli!
When you said to went back to the house because of the deer leg I was picturing the whole thing, not just the bottom part....That is still weird that something left it there....
Sad for the little deer. One was killed across the creek from here in a field. One day I looked up to see a dog trotting through out yard to another field with the whole ribcage in his mouth.
The sights you see in the country that you would never see in the city.
From the title I thought you'd been held up and they took your cannoli.
I'm glad that didn't happen. I like cannoli too.
Blessings.
Wow. That's both sad and a bit surreal, finding a deer leg in your driveway. It must have been the oddest moment, and really unsettling, too.

I don't think it's real...I think it's wooden, I think it's a forgotten odd work of art...see the polyurethane shine? Call me Pollyanna...I guess I just don't want to think about it. Yuck!
(and to think we almost came over to your house today sledding...my poor grandchildren!)
Donna, it is real! Jack threw it into the field across the road so no one would have seen it...come sledding anytime, but the Country Club has bigger hills and more thrills! But I do serve hot cocoa!
It's 11:30pm and my neck is killing me and I've had the 5yr old grandson for two days, so I'm a little punchy...but I swear I started laughing over this and COULD NOT STOP! Thankfully, Conner is asleep and my husband is out of town, or they would have thought I was off my rocker. Really, I was laughing that hard, like at a funeral when you're not supposed to laugh but it wells up and you can't stop it? Spory about the deer, but thank you so much for the laugh!
OMG I never know what you are going to show me. lol
Oh how sad. Poor deer and you for finding it.
I thought of you when I posted about Gary not getting a feeding tube until Tuesday and wondered what your reaction would be. Pretty much like mine. This is suppose to be the best cancer hospital maybe in the world. MD Anderson and they do this. wow
Did you enter my giveaway.
love

There are just some things ya don't question. Heeehehehehe!!!
I never...ever know what I might find in my yard 'round the Ponderosa.
God bless ya sweetie and have a marvelous week. :o)
sooooo funny!! drag it out of the field and put it in the freezer! Leisy needs it!! HAAHAHAHHAH it goes great with dead cow!
I'm sitting here, laughing and showing my husband. I feel sorry for the deer, but honestly that is bizarre! Perhaps someone had been hunting earlier in the year and had given one of their dogs a leg to chew from their freezer. Maybe the dog was wandering and left it in your driveway?? I can't stop giggling. It's the strangest thing I ever heard.
That is really weird.... why would there just be a leg..... NCIS, Law and Order, Judge Judy....... I think we have a case for them
Yikes! I cannot even imagine it, and on your way to church too. I didn't like the looks of the leg too much, but I hated the looks of the snow even more. I'm sorry, but I hate snow. I don't know how I ever survived winters in Idaho where I grew up.
I wonder where the rest of the deer is. Yikes! Great story.
I have to say, that's nothing you'd ever see where I live. What a great story!
