Spring, Sprang, Sprung

Saturday Jack couldn't resist the urge to buy a new snow shovel.  They were on sale for $4.50!  Who could pass that up?  Good thing too since it's was the first full day of Spring today and we get hit with a weather advisory...snow.   Schools closed today and driving was a pain.  It took one of our Docs 2 hours to get to the hospital this morning which delayed our start time.  I'm sure there will many accident reports in the newspaper tomorrow.   Here at the Pines...
Cold, wet, but beautifully white.
Frosting on the trees
This bird was perched on the tip top of a pine tree.  What was he looking for?
His nest perhaps?  Looks like he needs that snow shovel!
Spring has sprung in good 'ol  Ohio...come on down the drive, we'll keep the lights on for you!

That shovel is indeed a bargain! Poor bird, never thought about that problem for the birds in the snow.

Hi, YaYa!

It seems like February and March were switched (reversed) this year in many parts of the country including where you are and where I live. The four March storms that brought snow or the threat of it to your region dragged cool fronts through my neighborhood. It is always a good thing in Florida when soothing cooler air pours in and the uncomfortable heat of spring is postponed a few more weeks. I admire your pictures of the Pines temporarily transformed into a winter wonderland. Chubbs would have enjoyed talking a walk down your snow covered lane, I think. Over in Pennsylvania they received a lot more snow than you did. A couple of my friends report close to 18 inches. I am sure that it will soon be time for Jack to put the new shovel away for the season and remove the tarp from your backward pool. I'll bet your grandkiddos can't wait to start splashing around in it.

Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend, dear friend YaYa, and please visit my blog Sunday if you can. There is someone very special that I would like you to meet. :)

We're expecting another snow storm today. I didn't count how many snow storms we had this winter but I know it's MANY.

I know that spring has sprung because of the potholes on the roads, dirty snowbanks, water puddles everywhere, and the Eagles are mating in the pine trees making such a racket and the calendar says it's spring. The only complaint I have is that MR. Winter won't go away.

I hope that you have a good rest of the week.
Hugs, Julia

That bird was up there looking to see if he could see spring in the distance.

Great that Ringo was knighted this week! The Starkey family should be proud! :-)
