Yes, a knife is just what is needed around the Pines these days. For what you ask? Just to cut the air! It's been a very hot and humid week. The air is thick as butter. We have had a touch of rain here and there but not nearly as much as we need. I feel bad for the folks down south that are getting slammed. You would think with all the humidity we would be raining daily. The forecast calls for some each day so I guess we'll just have to do a few rain dances to draw it our way! As the week draws to a close I'm realizing the month of August is almost half over. Kids will be back in school soon and the other day I saw candy corn on display. Isn't that Halloween candy? The fact that I actually bought a new Halloween decoration today doesn't mean a thing...hehe! I'm on call this weekend and you all know how I just love that..(throwing sarcasm here!) I'll be connected to my call phone from Friday at 3:30 to Monday morning at 7. It's the one time I look forward to Monday morning when I can turn the phone off for a bit. One last thought: The other day I opened up the umbrella on the table on our deck and I found this little guy.
Don't you sometimes feel just like this? In a spot you don't want to be, hanging on for dear life?! Have a wonderful weekend!

Cute little frog hiding out. We are truly slammed with the rain down south. Every day. All day. And night. Soggy. Soggy. And HOT!! But in between the rain storms we make good use of the last days of summer. Wish our rain storms would move north to you.
We are having the same heat and humidity and I am over it! I am looking forward to fall while I don't usually like to rush the seasons except winter. I just hate this weather it really is good for nothing.

Hi, YaYa!
I remember experiencing those hot, dry Augusts when I lived in Pennsylvania and I can still hear the constant droning of locusts in the fields during August in the Keystone state. I'm sorry you are still sweltering. It has turned very hot and humid here in coastal Central Florida, too. The only difference is that a week from now you'll be having snow flurries and we'll still have months to go until the temperature becomes bearable.
Yessum, the year is racing by. Soon the grandkiddos will be back in school with H-ween not far behind. Let me be the first to wish you a very merry Christmas! :)
Have a great weekend, dear friend YaYa!
I feel you pain. At 5a.m. This morning it was 77 degrees. The cloud cover kept us from seeing the meteor showers. But like there the humidity is brutal. May you get no callsouts this weekend

Cute little frog! Yep I feel that way a lot at times. High humidity is life sucking I think, drains one of energy. Hope the on call weekend is not too bad.

Hot and humid here, no way to play more than 9 holes for me...life is tough...still I will miss summer.
I love the little frog. I hope that you have a quiet weekend - even if you are conscious of the phone all the time.
As a matter of fact, I feel like that frog right now.
=)
Hope your phone is quiet this weekend - wouldn't that be nice?
Guess we're all in the throws of Summer, but this is my very favorite time
Of the year (except for the mosquitos). Love me some August!
I wish I could send you our weather in summer, cool nights, moderate days, sunny and warm without humidity. Yes, I wish I could bottle this weather for you all.
We have been indoors for days...but, finally, a monsoon came through here a couple nights ago and swept away the humidity and super heat. Just in time for the state fair! They're loving the weather out there...we're in the basement painting, painting, painting...quick, before the carpet layers arrive on Monday :)
