Usually I would follow Momma Mia with " that's a spicy meatball!" Remember that commercial? Sorry, I think my brain is full of too much sun, warmth, and good times from this weekend! We did have the perfect weather. Of course we had a "to do" list a mile long. Unfortunately there are only so many hours in the day and also only so much energy in the body to get it all done. In between grocery shopping, and necessity shopping, and going to our new eat out breakfast place, we took a trip to the plant place. I told Jack that all I was going to buy were 3 peony plants. That's it! Don't let me buy one other thing! He just smiled...sure dear...whatever you say. Needless to say, the smell of earth and flowers was way to much for me. I walked out with 3 peony plants, wave petunias, potting soil, and only one flat of annuals. And that was because I truly used my restraint skills! (Plus I know I'll be heading back for the big sale in June!...and maybe one trip in between...shhhhh) Then we headed back to the Pines where I mowed the grass and planted the herbs I bought at Wal-mart...oh, did I mention I went to Wal-mart and got caught in the plant section there? No? Anyway, we also bought paint at Home Depot and mulch too. The painting did not get done and the mulch is still in the bags. That's because we took the time to head to Cameron's soccer game in the afternoon.
Lots of running!
Lots of determination!
Lots of checking out his knee he hurt on his scooter the day before! The funny thing was the other team never showed up so they just did a scrimmage amongst themselves. It was still fun and I'm glad we had the time to see him and cheer him on. Then it was home again and since it was such a beautiful evening we decided a fire in the pit with some hot dogs was in order.
YUM!
All the fixings and extras were laid out. Notice the perfectly mowed yard!
Yep, that's a good meal to end a fun day that was also a busy day. Sunday was also picture perfect but I don't do work on this day so after Church and lunch I spent the afternoon enjoying time with a good book on the deck. Oh, and bird watching. I was going to put away the feeder for the Summer because I'm sure the birds can find their own food now. But these dudes keep coming to visit and I enjoy seeing them.
Hello Mr. Cardinal! Enjoying the blooming Dogwood tree?
Hello Mr. Red-winged Black Bird...(I call him Sam). He reminds me of the Myna bird we had growing up. Our Myna wasn't named Sam...it was Charlie...but he looks more like a Sam. Anyway, I may keep the food around for a bit! So the weekend had to end some time. We went out with some nice homemade strawberry icecream.
Mmmmm...with a chaser of chocolate brownie!
Mmmm...X 2! Although I didn't take the time today for this usual part of my Sunday, this member of the family managed to get in a little cat nap.
Yep, the planting and mulching and painting can wait!

Hi, dear YaYa! Good good good times up there this weekend! It makes me very happy when the weather cooperates for you folks on weekends. Seems this spring has been kinder and gentler in your vicinity than last year's was.
Mrs. Shady is an avid gardener and behaves the same way when she gets to the garden dept. of Wal-Mart or goes to a local nursery. She leaves home with one or two items on her list and comes home with the car loaded down with plantings, soil, cow manure, trellises - you name it!
Yessum, your lawn looks beautiful, like the 18th green at Augusta National Golf Club. You should consider turning the Pines into one of the stops on the PGA tour!
It was nice to see your snoozing kitty. I wish I would have caught a glimpse of my old friend Eddy (or even the Yeti in the woods).
Have a wonderful week ahead, dear friend YaYa!
I love that green grass!! Sounds like a picture perfect weekend! Lots of fun, a little work, a lot of plant shopping and a little planting; all in all I say relaxful!
betty
You had it going on at your place! Glad you had good weather and that it finally warmed up. Great pics of the kids!
So nice to be able to get out and do things!! I've found there's always work to do, but it's not going anywhere! Happy Spring!
Sounds perfect. You are way ahead of us in blooming.

Boy, you sure get carried away when good warm weather arrives. I know the difficulty to restrain myself too when I go to a plant nursery and everywhere we go someone is selling plants now a day.
Usually when a team of player don't show up the home team wins by default but it must have been disappointing for your grandson.
Yaya, I'm so jealous of your perfect lawn.
Hugs any way.

Wow! Y'all packed a lot into your weekend.
I'm like you, I start out small and by the time I get to the register, I need a Llama to help carry it all!

Oh my gosh! You're killing me with all those good times and plant shopping. I did that this weekend too and your resolution sounds a lot like mine. I went in with a list and did my best to keep it to that. (But, of course, I did not.)
Those kids are cute and what a fun time you always show them. Hot dogs over the fire pit! Doesn't get much better.
Fun weekend, indeed.
I love that red Cardinal and that black bird.
That lawn is the result of some hard work. Perfect!
What a great yard to sit out and just enjoy. I hate having someones house right behind ours. HOTDOGS!
One of my very favorite foods..
I haven't had one is SO long.
You did have relish on them..right? and onions and ...and...mustard?
Hugs..
