I'm Behind

Read that title correctly..I'm behind..not "I'm a be-hind"..Get it? Never mind. All I know is I wanted to post about 3 days ago but somehow the weekend slid by.  Doesn't it always?  I remember walking out of work on Friday and looking at my coworker Kim and saying...Ahhh..it's the weekend! This is how pathetic I was. On Friday evening I fell asleep on the couch and Jack woke me up at 8:15pm.  I thought it was midnight, but he assures me it was 8:15pm.  I went to bed and woke up at 8:15am on Saturday. I'm so much fun. I did manage to get the Christmas tree down and all the ornaments put away. I cleaned the house, did grocery shopping, and we went to a birthday party for our neighbor who turned....30...I remember when I turned 30...I was a mess. I hated turning 30 because my generation wasn't even suppose to trust anyone over the age of 30.  What a ninny! Now I'm going to be 30X2 in about 8wks. The difference is I'm just glad I'm alive and kickin'! But Rachel looked surprised:
She blew out the candles, and everyone had a fun time!
Sunday Anthony played his first basketball game of the season.
I'm still trying to figure out why schools have decided to play school sports on Sunday. But he played and most of my pics were blurry. It didn't help that we were in the balcony and behind plexi glass. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it! So the weekend ended.. I did get to watch the first episode of season 3 of Dowton Abby....Love that show!! Have you seen it? LOVE IT!  But Monday came and work awaited. Donna was back today and we were all happy to see her. I'm sure she was tired.  She said she actually fell asleep waiting for her patient to get to the OR. But I've done that too, so don't worry DJ...it's hard to get back into the swing of the OR!
I hiked up into the Creepy Woods when I got home and found a few fall leaves just hanging around. The weather is warming up this week. We're suppose to hit the 50's by the weekend. We better enjoy it because next week it's back to bitter cold..or so they say!
I guess all  this snow in the backyard will be gone by Saturday.  It's already melted quite a bit.
On a final note, I took this picture of Dr. Stein a few weeks ago.  He usually works on Tuesdays but he's gone this week. Can you guess where?  Check out his hat...check out his #1 sign...Yep, he's in Florida cheering on Notre Dame.  I'm not much of a football fan, but I hope he has a good time and his team wins!

Oh, on a final, final note...new phone...new things to learn about it...new ways of doing things...old hate of new phones..I'm not a tekkie...I really only use my phone to call or receive calls. Just want it to ring, and I'll pick it up...nobody ever really calls me anyway...I did however text my daughter-in-law...that was big.

My phone looks a lot like yours only my key board slides out. I do text now and then but we never even get close to the minutes we have to use.And that is the starter minutes.
Glad Donna is back and doing well.

Gosh I remember turning 30... I wish I could be 30 again. I'm right behind you on the 60th birthday thing. Mine is in September. I got a new phone too - now I have Siri to ask ridiculous questions to!

I love those Friday nights when you can come home and just crash. Glad to hear Donna is back to work.
I think I am the only person on the planet who hasn't seen Downton Abbey. I guess I better get watching because everybody's talking about it :)

I guess a good sleep was needed, you work too hard.

I bet that Donna was happy to be back at work and everyone was happy to see her again. I hope that she takes it easy for a while.

Your phone looks exactly as my husband's phone.
I only use my cell phone to call family members but I feel more secure to have it with me all the time when I travel. I don't text either.

I've seen clips of Downton Abbey but I rarely watch TV anymore. It looks like a great show.

Hugs,
JB

Texting is huge. I didn't think I would like my smartphone either, but you would not believe how useful it is.
I have all my contacts, email, phone numbers and mailing addresses.
I have my photo album in there,
My calendar with reminders for birthday and other recurring events.
GPS....the list goes on.
Anyhow, I didn't mean to go on a sales pitch for phones but did I mention I LOVE my iPhone.

Ha... I hated 30 also but didn't have too much of a problem with 40 or 50. Now 60 is looming.. this one, I'm not too sure about. But yes, I remember when were weren't to trust anyone over 30 and now, unless we've given birth to they, we scarcely know anyone under 40. ;)

Sounds like you got a LOT accomplished over the weekend, actually. And I'm so glad to hear that Donna is back at work.

I love her beautiful hair!

Turning 30.......oh that was so long ago. I am sure she will be just fine, hah.
Glad Donna was back to work. Funny that she almost fell asleep. She has to be having a hard time adjusting.
I have had alot of those early night lately. It seems I need a nap around 8 p.m.

I am even worse than you with a cell phone. I still have my $20 pay-as-you-go phone. On Saturday I turned it on to find that I had received six messages from my sister--starting with a Christmas Eve greeting. :)

I just turned 30 on the 23rd! You’re neighbor and I are twinners! 30 isn’t as old as I had originally thought! HeheI think it’s ridiculous that school sports are on Sunday. We want our kids participating in sports like we did, but we’ll have to see if the coaches are accommodating with the Sunday thing. LOVE Downton Abbey! I’ve actually watched this whole season already on the internet. Be prepared to cry…and cry…and cry. I really wish Notre Dame won. The SEC wins everything!  Although, Nick Saban is from Ohio. Harley is doing soo much better! Have you already heard the update? I see you’re participating in the pink scarf project with Stacy and Kayla. That’s so cool! Thanks for posting on my blog even though I haven’t posted in 100 years!

I'm like you, I'm not much good when it comes to learning about new phones, or for anthing technical. I wanted to buy Dick an i-pad for Christmas, but when I started to see the differeces in prices etc. I just gave up and left it up to him. He had been saying he wanted one, even though he has an i-phone, and they are way too advanced for me.

I have never seen Downton Abbey, or any other of the TV shows, for that matter. I just can't hear when women talk and I just don't like saying "what did she say?" all the time to Dick. This is with my hearing aids in too. I am just going to have to get mine adjusted.

I read books while Dick watches TV and it works out well for us. I do like to watch things like American Idle and So You Think You Can Dance. Those shows I can just watch, I don't really have to listen.

You'll soon be 60? Wow, you're just a baby. Wait until you get to be my age.

It was good to hear that Donna is back at work. I wasn't surprised when you said she was tired though.

You said you were three days late posting? My goodness, I was a little over three weeks this time. There was just too much going on for me.
