Grow Your Blog Party!

Vicki at 2 Bags Full is having a "Grow Your Blog Party".  I'm participating and would like to welcome any new visitors to my blog.  I started blogging in 2008 as a way to keep connected to my grown kiddos and share pictures and events happening at our home. I found out this was a great way to journal after having my blog put into print at the end of each year. The amazing part of blogging I discovered was the connection I've made with many wonderful bloggers all over the globe.  I've learned so much, appreciated the way many share troubles, happiness, family times and also the funny side of their lives.  The talents that are shared are also part of the surprise. I've met knitters, hookers..rug hookers that is!, writers, artists of all mediums, photographers, and wonderful musicians. I will host a "give-a-way"  too. I'm going to pick something fun from a favorite place of mine called "The Parsley Pot"...It's right down my country road..here's a pic of  the inside of this cute barn full of joy!
My name on my blog is YaYa...It's what my Grandkids call me.  I'm half Greek and although that's not how YaYa  is really spelled,  YiaYia is Greek for Grandmother.   Hope you enjoy this party and try to visit all the blogs listed.  Thanks Vicki for this opportunity!  Now for some quick news here at Whispering Pines:
Our property is surrounded by these beautiful pine trees and today the wind was truly making them "whisper" as it blew through them.
I'm standing at the edge our our woods looking down the backyard...Our woods was nicknamed "The Creepy Woods" by my Granddaughter Katie many years ago and we've called it that ever since. But here's the real action happening today in the Creepy Woods:
Jack cutting wood for our furnace that keeps us toasty warm. Today the temps were mild..mid 40's and very sunny but the cold snap is headed our way tomorrow and the wood will be put to great use. So the Creepy Woods isn't just for my hiking pleasure or for fun "haunting" on Halloween!
I noticed a few bird's nests in the bare tree branches today. This nest was found in the fall and as Jack was trimming this dogwood I told him to please leave the nest alone..and he did!  The beautiful blue skies we had today makes a great background.
Self portrait today...I'm not sure why I look so angry..or maybe that's how I always look when I take my own pic! Actually the sun was shining in my eyes!
This was the sunset I spied this week that was a true "Red sky at night" moment.  So goodnight and hopefully tomorrow will be a true "Sailor's Delight" to everyone!  Happy Blog Party!

Hi Yaya, I'm glad that you decided to join the Grow Your Blog Party. I haven't decide what I'll give away so I didn't mentioned it yet as I was rushed when I posted today.

I learned something new about your blog name today.

I hope that you get lots of new followers. I guess that I have to go look for some on 2Bags full when I get more time.

I always love reading your blog and I found out that you're a terrific cook, a person with a great big heart and full of fun and young at heart and you're pretty too.

Stay warm and toasty by the wood fire.
Hugs,
JB

My Grandpa is half Greek! I wish I knew more about it ... We've had the hardest time with genealogy; we can only get back one or two more generations :(.

I noticed the pines, yes...even though I can't hear the whisper. But what I really noticed is that there isn't an inch of snow anywhere! No ice either! O_O Our backyard still has snow...Oh well, maybe it'll go away this week. We're having unusually warm weather for this time of years...but who knows how long 'that' will last!! ^_^ I hope Jack got lots of wood for you! :-)

Don't you always wonder what type of birds were in the empty nests? If only we had noticed them when the were occupied! The little shop down from your place is so quaint! I love little places like that, where you can get lost looking around at all the goodies.

Hi there! Just spent a whole lotta time looking at nests over at Vicki's...it's time for me to get out more, visit more blogs...thanks for putting me onto the list.

Anyway, I'm glad we're already friends and thanks for stopping by...seems I've been on vacation a long, long time...now to get back into the swing of things.

I must ask you, sometime, about putting your blogs in print...something I've been wanting to do but not quite daring to step into it. You've inspired me with the annual idea.

OMGSH!!! I love, love, love the Parsley Pot! It's my very favorite. There is no other store like it!

I think it's awesome that you guys have a wood burning furnace. It's so self-sufficient.

I love the sunset. We have a couple of inches of snow at the moment so your furnace sounds like it should be over here in the UK, keeping us warm. If I send a box with an Ivy in it will you send a furnace back by return?

What great photos! My woodstove is cooking hot right now, too. It's cold out here in the sticks of upstate New York. Having a great time at the blog party. And I would love to go to your fun looking Parsley Pot. I'm dreaming in your sunset photo. Love it!

Have fun bloggin' on! Aloha!

Oops, I misspelled the word Yia Yia in my A to Z blogging. Now I know the correct spelling. My process co-ordinator is from a Greak background, but I never had a chance to ask him to spell the word Yia Yia.
I have always enjoyed reading your blog. I actually started admiring your Mom and sending blessings her way. Also you grand kids are sooo adorable!

Very nice. I didn't think you looked mean, I thought someone was trying to get something over on you and you were giving them that, "hey, wait just a dog gone minute, mister." :)
