BFF Donna

I've had blogger friends asking about our friend Donna. She's doing good. Her bad weeks are the weeks of chemo..every other Tuesday. The week in between she feels good enough to come to work. Although her strength and stamina are not her usual, she does any assignment she's given, and volunteers to do what she can at work. I asked her today if she would mind if I posted a pic and an update. She's taking a break from blogging for now, but will come back here and there when she feels up to it. Chemo is a life saver, but it's a "butt kicker" also. I'm learning a lot about cancer, cancer treatments and how to go about it with determination and grace. Donna is a sweet person and a great friend and she's going to come through this with help from above and from her friends. She has lost her beautiful hair, but not her beautiful spirit. So keep her in your prayers. We talk about many of you that we both follow and I keep her updated on what's happening here in the blog world! This is a pic I snapped the first week of her wearing her wig (posing with our co-worker Stephanie)..I think she looks great, she hates it...but one day all her own lovely locks will grow back. For now, I applaud her! She's my inspiration!

Thank you for the update on Donna. She looks great in that picture, and I would never guess she's wearing a wig. Give her a hug from me.

Well, I can't remember if I actually asked you about her or if I was just thinking about it, but I'm glad for the update. She's been on my mind, and I'm pleased to hear she's hanging in there. She does look great, and her own beautiful hair will grow back. Please give her my love.

I see she's still smiling! I would not have guessed she was wearing a wig...she looks like her old self to me. :) My friend lost her hair and told me that it came back healthier than it has ever been. Thanks for the update Kathy! You're a great friend.

Oh Cathy, what a wonderful gift to us today . Thanks so much for this update on Donna. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and she's still very much in my prayers. She looks so beautiful and you'd never know that she's wearing a wig.

I would like to send her a card but I didn't dare asking for her mailing address but Just tell her that I'm holding her dear in my heart and that I'm sending lots of love. I miss her blogging but I understand. I'm so glad that she's holding on for her treatments. She will come out of this stronger than she was.

I love you both. Have a good weekend and thanks again. You made my day. Hugs( please share) JB

Thank you for keeping us updated. Donna is in a lot of our prayers. I just got home from our Relay for Life event. Our little town of 10,000 people raised OVER $176,000 for tonight's Relay! Amazing. We are kicking cancers butt!

Cathy....thanks for the update on Donna. I've been taking a blogging break myself lately, but wanted to stop in to say thanks to you and ask you to give my love and best wishes to Donna. It's a tough road to hoe, but she has an inner strength and a support system to help her through!
Love to you and your sweet BFF!

Thanks for the personal update. The fact that she is wearing a wig in the photo really surprises me, as it looks EXACTLY like her natural hair, color and style!! I know she is struggling with chemo protocol and her resolve fading, so I hope you can continue to use your friendship and influence to keep her on track!!!!
You are a true friend.

Glad do hear she is doing okay. That chemo is a tough one. She looks great in her wig, but I truly admire those gals who just go everywhere with their bald heads. It shows great courage to do so. We have a couple of women in our ward who came to church bald. We actually got quite used to seeing them that way, and when the hair started to grow, they looked so cute with their short short hair and they both had their hair come in curly!

I hope to see you both the latter part of September. Dick and I have to get together and see if we can work our schedule down a little better. When we do, I'll let you know about when we expect to be there.

Donna, you are the greatest!! Just feel better and don't overdo. We remember you in our prayers each night.

Thanks for the update on Donna. I've been thinking of her. Please let her know we are praying for her and sending love and hugs. Middle son has his transplant in a few weeks and I'll probably have to take a hiatus then too.

PS.I think Donna's wig looks very gracious.

(Sorry, I deleted the last post because of a spelling error.)

I am so sorry to hear this! I sure will keep her in my prayers. I mean, she saved my husbands life! The least I can do is pray for her.
