Repeat Saturday

I can't believe I haven't posted in a week. I also can't believe that this week was very similar to the week before. It consisted of work...drama at work...weird weather...warm weather...me smiling when the temps were in the 50's and 60's...and then this Saturday we had a replay of last Saturday....yep, after sun and a bit of warmth and snow all melted I looked out the kitchen window this morning and saw this:
Well, OK, I can handle this. As Jack and I made breakfast..well, Jack made the bacon because I am awful at making bacon...I made my own eggs..the snow just kept on coming down in big wet flakes. But the bacon was tastey!
After breakfast and after the Pioneer Woman was done on food network we headed out to town.
As we drove past my neighbor's house I was amazed how far away the house looks with all that snow!
We went to Jack's office so he could work on my knee. It's been killing me for the past week. I've been exercising in my efforts to accomplish my goals I set on January 2nd. I'll post more about that later. I thought exercise was suppose to make you feel better...I guess I just need to keep at it. I have lost a few pounds however..12 to be exact. But..poor knee!
Our downtown was having another event to promote area businesses. They used the warehouse that had the farmer's market in it in the fall. Heat was added...thank goodness!
Here's a sampling of what was there. Many fun displays and wares to look at. I held off and bought nothing...but I did enjoy the atmosphere!
That was all the excitement I could handle for one day so we headed back to the Pines where I spent the rest of the day doing chores, hiking in the woods and finally making some potato soup that turned out pretty darn good if I do say so myself!

You've lost 12 pounds?? Well, your knee must be sore from doing the happy dance. Way to go!!
That soup looks good. Do you have a recipe to share?

That soup looks so yummy! The weather here has been just like spring. Everything is blooming and we worry our blueberry crop will be lost if it decides to turn cold now. That would break my granddaughter's heart. She and her Papa love to "graze." So sorry about your knee, but congrats on the 12 lbs. Sure wish I was losing some too but hubby always seems to have ice cream around and that is my greatest weakness! Love the snow!!!!

Woo Hoo for your 12 pounds! I keep playing around with the same 7, but I'm determined. I've been exercising a bunch too . . . and feeling it in both my knees! So, you have lots of sympathy from me!

What crazy weather you have! At least it doesn't hang around all that long. I wouldn't mind snow once in a while as long as it doesn't stick around and freeze.

Hope your knee improves soon and you can keep exercising. Lucky you have your hubby. That soup looks very delicious. I love potato soup. Did you have any bacon left over to add to it? Mmmm! Now I'm hungry.

First of all congratulations on loosing twelve pounds. I would be jumping with joy. Oops, did not mean to be insensitive there, sorry about your knee. Knee pain can be bad, I know from experience from my teenage years when I fell in our varanda in India. It lasted for years and I feel it when it gets cold.
The soup looks delicious.
I hope that today you are feeling better.

Wait a minute. You have knee problems and keep doing chores?
Oh girl, let somebody help you. Elevate those knees, take a warm bed, and rest them.

I took up swimming when my knees began hurting. It worked! They healed, and now, whenever they seem to need attention, back to swimming I go.

Your losing weight should help too.

Congratulations on loosing all that weight and marrying a man who can fix your knee and cook your bacon. I think that he a keeper.

Sorry about your knee hurting. You are probably on your feet too much at work.

I enlarged the photo on that machine for a close look and I had a similar machine hooked on my bad shoulder last Fall in physio therapy. It helped me a lot. I also was hooked to an ultra sound machine to break down calcium built up in the shoulder muscle. I'm not 100% healed, but much better. I did some physio at home but did not kept up with it.

Lovely pictures of the snow. Have a safe week. JB

I'd be thrilled to lose 12 lbs(I've lost 6)...I THOUGHT you were looking good sister...too much WORK!! Talk about exercise!!
The breakfast and soup made my mouth water. Yum! As for the weather, I thought string was coming Friday because it was so nice and I heard birds singing!! Guess they'll have to wait a bit longer.
Hope everyone in your house is feeling better, including the knee Jack worked on!!!

Oh honey 12 pounds is a lot and exciting. What I would give to be able to have your will power. I am so proud of you but sorry about your knee.
Hope the hubby makes it better fast.
I think of you often when I am outside here and having to mow already. What a difference in our weather. It is cold here today though after 70's yesterday. Weird
Boy does your potato soup look good. I love it but never have learned the trick to making it like you have. Yummy
Honey I hope your week is not to weird at work and that your knee doesn't give you trouble
Sending you lots of love

You get more snow than anyone else I know! I'm so jealous. We have yet to have our own Snowpocalypse. I mean, we had that one snow that was actually mostly ice ... That doesn't count. I want REAL snow.

I would be so happy to lose 12 pounds. Congratulations! Not an easy thing to do.
In Southern California we just are not having a Winter..
I am praying for colder weather and some rain this coming weekend..even if I have to give up my garage sales! :)

Not exercising and not eating right and it is coming back to haunt me. Big time!
Isn't it nice to get home after an outing! I loved seeing your snow even if it only lasted a bit.

I know I probably already told you, but I LOVE that photo of you..yep..makes me :):):)

That potato soup has been haunting me since I didn't mentioned it. I got stuck on the tens machine and forgot to ask. Would you share the recipe please?

I love any chowder but never made potato soup so I'm ready to try. Taste is a personal thing so I can always adjust. I'm sure that it taste very good.

My oldest daughter lived in Ecuador in the village of Sucre and was working on her doctor degree in Anthropology studying cultures and ate lots of potato soup with the Quechua Indians. Potato soup was a staple food for them. In order to study their cultures she worked in the fields with them and gained their trust so she could do her research.

I'll be on the lookout for the recipe when you're up to it. JB

I'm really behind on my blogging. I missed this one and just had to comment. I think it is terrific that you have lost 12 pounds!! If I could lose that, I would be happy because that is 2 pounds more than my goal. Darn! I just can't understand why I can't get more motivated. Of course it is hard for me to exercise right now because I am still so dizzy and can't move my head. Maybe that is why I can't lose. I just can't exercise and that is so much a part of any weight loss program.

I'm sorry you have been having so much trouble with your knee. I have two of them that are bad most of the time. You are so fortunate to have your own personal chiropracter. I'll bet it will get better before too long. I hope so anyway.

Your weather is truly crazy. But I think it must be crazy all over because it certainly is here and it definitely is in Utah. They really need the snow and it just doesn't stay around when it does snow a bit. My daughter Jayne lives in Salt Lake City and she keeps raving about their crazy weather too.

You should know by now that whenever you post a picture of something so mouth watering as that potato soup, you will absolutely have to post the recipe. Come on now, I really want to try it! Me and a whole lot of other people.
