NO SCREAMING REQUIRED! Oops, I said "no screaming required". It really is a blessing to work in a hospital. Atleast at my hospital it is. The surgeons I work with are really a nice group of people who will help you anyway they can. I showed my finger to the ortho doc who works on Monday and he gave me two options. 1) He would pin it for 8 weeks or 2) wear a splint for 8 weeks. He even offered to pin it on my break time. Hmmm...he sounded a little TOO happy to do that. I THINK he was going to give me some numbing stuff (medical term). However, I thought the best idea was to just splint it. I can still scrub and it wouldn't require a second procedure to take the pin out. And really, who could resist such a lovely accessory at this:

Gee whiz, it looks classy! Take it easy though; no washing dishes or digging ditches.
It is only when you hurt your hands or arms that you realise how indispensable they are, a couple of years ago I broke my wrist ice skating I though I could do a spin ........ I can't snapped my wrist almost off, such a nightmare... get well soon... thank goodness you have such helpful doctor friends
Try not to do too much. Speedy recovery!
thank you for your post
It looks just lovely!!! I'm sure it won't get in the way at all!! And so what if it gets wet...or gets cream on it...or gets yanked or pulled by accident!! (Obviously sending a little humor your way. ^_^) Annoying, annoying, huh?!
Hope it heals well and quickly. It's going to be kind of awkward at work!
=)
Well, you have many stellar qualities, but this pic is quite clear of the lovely picture on the wall and VERY fuzzy of your cute little splint, my friend! Ha! Glad it wasn't worse. 8 weeks is long enough though, huh?
i think it's a fashion statement, just kidding. thanks for your comment on my post re gift. i think that people like yourself as well as myself are so aware of giving onself and communication with others. take care.rose
Please tell your finger "Get Well Soon" from me. :)
I saw a comment from you at A Tale of Two Buckskins and thought I'd drop by. You have a great blog.
Your finger accident brought back memories of my father who did something similar to his finger. I hope yours gets well soon.
Is "Ya Ya" because you are Greek? I have a good friend in TX who is Greek and I love hearing about her family and her trips home to Greece.
Oh my! I hope this sorts out your finger. I still get a pain in my knuckle when I think of that first photo!
I would opt for whichever is less intrusive and whichever would not make ME scream. You see, I do not deal well with pain. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being very little tolerance for pain, my score is
minus 0 (seriously)!!!! Sure hope it will get well on it's own and not cause you too much discomfort.
I just read all of your posts that are still open and not archived and I loved getting to know you. I never knew much before except what was in your "about me" part of your blog. I loved what you wrote about your sister-in-law's death and what you believe about being together again. I have a little trouble with that and your faith was an inspiration to me.
Always loved Greek celebrations that we were invited to. My first baptism I witnessed, I almost ran up to the altar and grabbed the baby because I thought he was going to drown! And the food!
Your finger will be more of hindrance than you realize, I think. I broke my arm around my wrist two years ago and living alone was very difficult. You learn to use your teeth a lot.
You and your husband look and sound so happy together. Enjoy and I know you will.
And last, I love your quote about standing before God able to say you used all your talents He gave you.
You are always so loyal about commenting on my posts. Thank you. I didn't know I was not down as one of your followers but I am now.
Geezz honey I don't blame you for not doing the pin thing...makes me cringe just thinking of about it. Now My finger hurts and toes. hahaha
Was wondering if you spent your CSN giveaway gift certificate. I hope so
Love
Maggie
apearMy tooth pulling is on Friday instead of Wednesday. I was wrong in my post. Funny, it started aching last night--all night.
