How's Loveuary Going?

This month is more than half over and Tuesday we celebrated Valentine's Day.  Some have mixed feelings about this Hallmark day.  I know the card, flower, and candy businesses enjoys it!  I don't mind a day that makes you remember someone special with a simple card or treat.  I always gave our kids heart shaped boxes with candy and now I give that to my Grandkiddos.   Although the ones out west get cards with a little yaya moola!   I got a nice arrangement from Jack:

I love it because the flowers can be replanted so no waste and more enjoyment in the future.  Plus it's darn cute!
I made lasagna for our dinner and then made extra to give my oldest son and his family.  A salad and garlic bread completed that feast...and then the gooey brownies topped it off:
They were a bit messy but putting them in a heart shaped dish helped make them more presentable.  They were all eaten anyway!
When you're cooking all that it must be done with a red apron and notice the red checked curtains! A complete Valentine's day party!  It was a nice day but we also had a nice weekend before that.  We went to see our Grandson, Cameron, play basketball.  We hadn't been able to make his games this year so I was happy we were able to get there on Saturday.
He's number 5.
He's a hustler!  Unfortunately they lost..51-53....a close one the whole way! They start tournament games now so good luck Cameron!  One last item to complete my week.  I went to one of those paint and sip classes.  Now remember, I'm not a drinker and we actually had the class at our church women's meeting last night.  Also full of non-drinkers!  It was a hot chocolate or cider or water sip with yummy treats to have while doing a painting of Jesus.  I didn't take pics of the decor but it was super cute with a snowman theme.  Who knew that here in Ohio yesterday would be a sunny, 70de day!  But fun was had by all and here's my finished product:
It was done with watercolors and I left the face blank because we all have our image of  what the Savior looks like and so if you look you can fill in the blanks to fit your image.  Well, it's almost the weekend and I'm off today so Jack's taking his lunch hour from the office and we're going to a little Irish Pub called O'Bryan's for lunch with a bunch of his high school classmates.  They meet once a month and sometimes there's about 30 that show up! We're a few of the "still working" group but I'm glad we do get to attend most the time.  I enjoy this group even though I didn't go to high school in Ashland they have made me feel very welcome.  Enjoy the rest of this Loveuary week!

It sounds like a perfect Valentine's Day to me. A beautiful practical bouquet of flowers that keeps giving year after year. Good thinking on your hubby's part.

Lazagne and gooey brownies are a good choice. You got flowers but I got a large bottle of sparkling red wine for Valentine's and there's still plenty left.

Cameron looks so tall in that picture. So good of both of you to go to his game. His team wasn't far behind. Better luck next time.

It feels like a beautiful spring day today. The snow and ice are melting.

Take care, hugs.

Hi, Yaya!

Thanks for playing Show & Tell, showing us what you got for V-Day and telling us all about it.

Question: How can Shady get in on this "yaya moola" giveaway? :)

Clearly Jack believes he hit the Jack-pot when he took you as his bride. It's good to see that romantic gestures, like the gifting of that lovely floral arrangement, are still important to him and to you. I hope you'll take a picture when those flowers take their places out in your garden.

Question: How can Shady get in on this lasagna & brownies giveaway? :)

Yessum, I know your delightful clan by now, and correctly identified player #5 as Cam before you told us. That picture brings back memories of my years playing basketball in junior high and in the church league when I was in senior high. From the age of 7 or 8, I was basketball obsessed. I used to toss a rubber ball, a softball or even a Ping-Pong ball into a peach basket and pretend I was a real B-ball player out on the court. I always wanted to be taller than my actual height of 6' 1" and begged my parents to allow me to undergo surgery to have my legs lengthened with bone splints. Good luck in the tourney games, Cam!

Ever since I quit drinking 31 years ago, I have enjoyed life so much more. I can much better handle the bad times as well as the good. I admire you for being a non-drinker. I never understood how people are supposed to produce a quality painting while under the influence. Clean, clear-headed and sober, you created a lovely and inspiring portrait of Jesus. I hope you have a good time at O'Bryan's pub with Jack's classmates. I'm glad to know they make you feel welcome in their group. There one thing I can definitely say about my visits to Whispering Pines (the blog). It is populated by really nice, decent people. That's encouraging to me.

Thank you for this Loveuary week update, dear friend YaYa. Please give my sweetie Annabelle a slab of lasagna, then tell a fib and say that Shady sent it. Take care and bless you!

I can't believe February is over half gone...yikes. 70º? Double yikes. We had a few days of mild temps that melted the snow but it was windy...and there is a lot of snow on the ground...and sidewalk...and today it turned cold...again. Oh well, like I said, February is over half gone and we are inching closer to spring. Adorable photo of Chef Yaya!! ~Robin~

My day went in having a Sing along with elderly ladies along with my hubby. Most of the ladies are in their mid to late eighties. It is very sad but we do make the most of music and what ever level memory they have.

I have learned a lot of Brain/ Mind connection.

One of my coworkers had told me that there is only one thing and that is 'Love " for people with Dementia. He is right.

Pink and Red Hearts every where and some patients like and appreciate and some don't but they do their best in the rehab.
