This week has been one filled with the ups and downs of life. Isn't life always made up of the happy and the sad? The up and down? The hellos and goodbyes.? Friday night we had reason to celebrate one of the joys of life as our Granddaughter, Driana married her love...Jonathan..in a lovely ceremony and a fun reception with family and friends. Driana is our first Grandchild. She's the reason we became YaYa and PawPaw! She has brought so much happiness over the years and we have celebrated her journey threw her almost 26 years of life. She found her vocation as a registered nurse helping hospice patients and their families. She works hard and loves what she does and she loves her family. We wish her and Jonathan all the happiness in the world. Time has flown by and the little girl we babysat, shared birthdays, watched cheerleading, basketball, and graduations has grown into a beautiful wife and maybe someday....a mother. Best Wishes Driana and Jonathan!

Finally There Is Joy
First dance.
The event center was very lovely and the food was good and I'm sure everyone had a great time. We did leave around 9pm as I was ready to call it a day. Here's some final pics..The Starkey men...minus Jordan who couldn't make it out from California but Craig...(blue shirt on the end!) came out from Portland, Oregon. Unfortunately my Daughter-in-law and his kiddos couldn't make it because school is still in progress until next week. Our table.I was happy to spend the evening with my guys. We laughed and had a great time together. It's this part of life that helps make the rest all worth it. Best wishes Driana and Jonathan. Enjoy the journey because it's a very fast ride. We love you!

Congratulations! It looks like it was a lovely wedding!
Hi, YaYa!
I'd say the timing couldn't have been better for this happy event, because it reminded you that for every tragedy and loss there is joy to be found and something to celebrate. Congratulations to the happy newlywed couple, Driana and Jonathan! It was a pleasure to see these pictures of the ceremony and reception. Everybody looked their best and the room was gorgeous. I really admire Jonathan for wanting Kip to be there as "Best Dog." People who love and respect dogs and regard them as important members of the family are my kind of people. I also admire grandkiddo Dri for all the hard work she does in her chosen profession as a hospice nurse. The world needs more like her.
I'm sorry Jord couldn't make it across the country to attend the wedding, but it was great to see that Craig made it over from Oregon. The group shot at the end of the post is beautiful. I hope this day of happiness marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of Driana and Jonathan helps ease the pain of losing your big brother Greg.
Please keep your spirits up. I hope you find more things to smile about as your weekend continues. Take care, dear friend YaYa!
All Grands' are wonderful, BUT that first one is SPECIAL. Wishing the best in their lives together...
Sherry & jack REMEMBERING.......
Congratulations to Driana and Jonathan on their wedding day. I'm so glad that you had this occasion to have this joy to balance the sadness of losing your beloved brother. I'm sure Greg was there in spirit and everyone remembered him fondly.
The couple looks just so lovely.
Enjoy all these special moments as life is just passing by so quickly.
Hugs and prayers.
Julia

It is said that God does not close a door without opening a window.... Congratulations to Driana and Jonathan! It looks like it was a beautiful wedding....and don't you look stunning! You have a very handsome family indeed. Keeping you in thought and prayer as you go through the days ahead. ~Robin~
What beautiful bride! So happy for the newlyweds. I agree with Robin, when God closes a window he always leaves a window open. You looked like the belle of the wedding too! Janice
