Goodbye Sweet Eddy Dog

The hardest day in the life of a dog owner is when you know it's time to say goodbye.  This has been a difficult Summer and Fall for our sweet Eddy.  Jordan had to make the hard decision to get him free of pain and go to the Rainbow Bridge.  This morning our Eddy made that trip.  He was Jordan's best friend and in many ways was a life saver for him.  We welcomed Eddy into our lives in October of 2008 when Jordan came home with him.  We loved that boxer face!  He was such a smart and obedient dog.  Jordan did a fantastic job of training him.  We  had lots of fun times and laughs with his antics!  He was the star of many of my blog posts.  Dearest Eddy, you were so loved and will be terribly missed by all of us.  RIP.
When Eddy was still small enough to hold!
Good buddies till the end.
I will miss my many walks in the Creepy Woods with Ed..he loved it there.
Everyone was his friend!
He loved it when the kiddos read to him.
He always knew which Christmas stocking was his!
Snow was fun too!
But a cozy day on the couch wasn't so bad either!
He loved to torment Squeak and sit in her bed...he was a rascal!
Truly loved by all the Grandkiddos.
Hose water was his favorite thing to drink!
My last pic of him in September....so thin...so white in the face.
Jordan will miss him forever.

So very sorry for the loss of Eddy. The only way that dogs could be improved is for them to lead longer lives.

Oh YaYa, I am heartbroken. For months I have been reading between the lines and suspecting that Eddy was on his last legs. I am so terribly sorry for your loss, a loss you know I share. Eddy has been my good buddy for years, ever since I signed on with you at Whispering Pines. I have enjoyed seeing pictures of him exploring your property and the woods. I take some small comfort knowing that Eddy is no longer in pain. I know in my heart that your Eddy is with my Toto now and that they are fast becoming best friends.

God bless Eddy. I will always remember him!

I'm so sorry to read this about the loss of your dear Eddy. Having a very old dog myself and knowing it won't be long before we must face it, my heart hurts for you.

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about Eddy. He has truly been a loved pet by Jordan and your whole family. When he and Jordan moved out, I'm not sure which one of them you missed more! It is such a hard decision to let them go, and I know Jordan's heart and yours must be broken. So grateful to know he is running around pain free in heaven now though.

I am so sorry. What a great dog Eddy was and he will live forever in everyone's memories. Its the hardest decision a pet owner has to make, but one that has to be made at times, no matter how painful. Again, I am so sorry.

Yaya,
Sorry to hear news of Eddy's passing. Sad sad sad. I'm not good with loss and when we had to put our little Sammy to sleep after having him for years it broke my heart. It hasn't mended. Not enough to let me get another puppy. Not only that, I'm not home enough to care for a pet.
Take care of you. Glad you have such great photos and memories. RIP Eddy.
Hugs! B
