Getting Ready For The Big "H"

Do you like Halloween?  I know there are some who really think it's a pagan holiday of evil and others think it's just a fun day for kids and candy.  I am caught in-between!  Really, I've celebrated Halloween since I was a fetus and haven't turned to the dark side yet, so I'm fairly confident I can continue in my decorating frenzy and fun times of this crazy time of year.  If you are of the "don't even talk about this evil day" kind of person, I respect that.  Please don't look at the following pics:
I'm having a little gathering on Oct. 31st and I'm readying the Pines for the hauntingly good times and the spooktacular dinner I have planned.  Just a small group of revelers but it should be fun.  I'm not done yet...but here's a teaser anyway. The kitchen has a fireplace mantle too, but it's not too scary:
See...not so bad! Well, to end this tirade I'll just post a few Eddy pics from last Sunday. We took a little stroll in the Creepy Woods.
He was super excited to visit his old haunts....(I know, more Halloween language)
These lovely lilac colored flowers line the paths everywhere and are so pretty.
Did you loose a feather in your cap?
This could be the perfect hanging tree....If I were having a haunted woods this year it would be the perfect spot for some fun.....
The look on Eddy's face says: "Yaya, get over the spook stuff...this is all about me today!"

Eddy's little face is getting all white. I love Halloween also it was so much fun as kids we lived in a large neighborhood with lots and lots of kids the streets were filled with Gould's and so much fun. A Halloween dinner party sounds like fun

Oh Yaya, I would love being one of your Halloween guest at your haunted house. I'm sure there would be plenty of excitement . I love your spooky mantel the best. How did you do that? It almost looks like a hologram. Very effective. I bet you have some scary sounds and some spooky food to go along. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Most of my family gets dress and have halloween parties down home. here we are so busy we never do any fun things like that. See all the fun I'm missing.
Hugs,

I love that last picture of Eddy. I like your Halloween decorations and how fun to have a gathering to plan for! Over the years I've gone up and down about Halloween but a former pastor expressed it so well a few years back. He says every single day belongs to Jesus, including Halloween. We should enjoy the fun of it and not consider it an evil day. That church always did a big carnival as an outreach to the neighborhood with everything being free with kids getting tons of candy :)

the creepy meadow is scarier to me than the Halloween festivities! Looks like a lot of fun...

Some people are a bit WEIRD about Halloween now, it seems like they almost worship it!
You, on the other hand, strike just the right balance. A bit of fun and really, don't you want to have something up for the kids? My son loved Halloween. I really miss him being a child and having fun with him!

Hi, dear YaYa! When I was a boy Halloween was my favorite holiday. I love the Halloweeny look of your blog page, both the header and the side panels! The decorations around your house are spooktacular as well. Those attending your H-ween party will surely get into the spirit the minute they set foot inside. However, I would like to suggest that you serve dinner in the Creepy Woods to maximize the fear factor. Eddy can be dressed as the greatest boxer of all times... Muhammad Ali... and his pal the Yeti can accompany him wearing a Howard Cosell mask.

It's wonderful to see Eddy again and to know he had a chance to sniff around the woods again. Thank you very much for an entertaining post, dear friend YaYa, and have a great week!

I'm not a big fan of Halloween, but your place looks like there will be some creepy fun for them at your party. I bet there won't be many venturing out into the creepy woods alone.

I like seeing the little ones in their costumes looking for candy, so I will be sitting outside with candy and ready for them on that big night.

I'd love to be on the Guest List for your party. I'd definitely sneak into the Creepy Woods for a bit, but I'd take Eddy with me for protection.

I'm glad that you still have a sign of life in those creepy woods. Your decorations look great. Not TOO demonic. :)
