Pretty In Pink...And Green

The last 2 weekends have been the perfect weather specimens!  No rain, sunny skies, temps in the 70's and no humidity.  Jack went camping with the Scouts on Friday night and it was a great "sit by the fire" camp night.  I was busy getting the pool ready.  I think it should be good to go in a few days.  I sat out on the deck this morning and admired the pink blossoms that seem to be a theme out there this year. Paired with the green of my wicker and cushions, it's pretty!
See the hanging pink posies in the background?
Up close and personal with the dew on the petals.
The grass is green and the leaves are all filled out.
Up in the tree in the front is my new friend...although she doesn't think so....but I love her funny look.  It's very distinctive.  A bit of a "Mohawk" hairdo and white spots on the orange breast...plus her squawk cracks me up. She's a good Mom and the babies are doing fine. I'll update with some pics this week.  The green leaves are a nice background.  Now for a pink that's not so pretty. I think I got bit by something while working around the pool.  It's been a very buggy spring and this popped up and boy does it hurt...a bit better today than yesterday but it looks nasty...turn away if you're squeamish!
My lovely leg...NOT! My ankle is swollen too and no that's not a tick.  If it doesn't get better I may actually have to have an expert take a look at it.  If they have to amputate my leg I think I'll tell them to do it above the knee and save myself from having to have a total knee replacement...Hey, it's a joke! (I have a sick sense of humor) Ok, let's
get to something pleasant to end this "pink and green" post.  I found these at Wal-Mart today. I knew that "Ball" was coming out with vintage colors in their canning jars.  We only had the green ones which is perfect for my kitchen.  I'm going to use them for drinking glasses and I think they are really pretty...
Maybe not pretty in pink but these will do!

It looks like you're all ready for summer. I wish I had a pool but then it means that I would have to keep it clean, on second thought, I'll just swim in the shower.
Oh that bite looks nasty. It's a good thing that insects are small. They have some nasty poison. Hope it feels better soon. Don't joke about getting your leg amputated, I just couldn't bear it.

I love your flowering tree. Mine is much smaller and it a flowering crab. I have to make up some hanging baskets this coming week if I can find the time. Yours are pretty.

I did a blog post tonight but it doesn't show up in my Reader list but I got one comment from TexWisgirl. I wonder if it shows up in her reader list.

Take care and hope that leg looks better soon.

Hugs,
JB

Oh your pinks are so pretty and lucky you with a pool. I've done our patio in pinks and green this year also, but yours is much prettier...Your leg looks "hot", as in fever hot. Are you taking Benedryl? My Grandma would always "open" the bite then make a paste out of soda and put it on the bite to draw it out. Then douse it with alcohol or noesporin, etc. These old remedies work pretty well at least until you can see a doc. Take care my friend!

Hello, dear YaYa! Pink and green is a lovely combination and I'm very happy to see your sprawling Whispering Pines estate coming alive for the warm weather season. I'll bet your grandkiddos are itchin' to hop in that pool of yours. It's good to know mother robin and her youngins are doing well. I can't wait to see more pictures of them.

Hey, dear friend, I am very sorry to see that you got bit by something. Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I don't even remember getting bit. I noticed my hand itching and burning and when I looked it was inflamed and starting to swell. It bothered the heck out of me for more than a week before it healed up. I suppose we both learned a lesson:

"Deep Creepy Woods Off - don't leave home without it!"

Mrs. Shady's into canning and I think she'll be happy to know about the vintage color jars. As soon as I publish this comment I'm gonna run and tell her about them.

Please get well soon, dear friend. Be patient. No need to amputate just yet, but keep that can of repellent handy and use it when you're out and about.

Enjoy your Sunday, dear friend YaYa!

Ouch with your leg; yep, definitely have someone take a look at it if it doesn't seem to be getting better! Such pretty pink flowers/blossoms blooming!

Don't you just love the dew on the petals ~ so lovely ( unless of course if it's actually "doo" on the petals that happens too around here lol)
Cricket send her "Bark on" to Eddy .
Take care of that leg ~ looks like a Spidee was sneaking up your pants . If you start climbing walls be sure to wear the Spider man outfit ( but seriously Miss nurse keep an eye on that ).

As for all of the other pinks.. and greens.. they're lovely. It's so refreshing to have fine weather back.

Beautiful pinks! Not so beautiful on the bright red. I think you should have somebody at work take a look at that thing!

Sheesh. Look sore!!

Beautiful flowers. I'm enjoying everyone's spring planting. Don't wait too long on your leg. If it's a spider bite, it can get pretty nasty if you don't have it looked at.

I love those green Ball jars! How fun to watch the mama bird with her babies. Our hummingbird babies are up and out! One day I noticed how crowded they were in their nest, and the next morning they were gone. Beautiful flowers - makes me long for summer. Take care of that bug bite!

I snorted when I read the knee replacement joke.
Not sure what would cause a bite like that. I'd get it checked if it doesn't get better soon.
Also, I'm not familiar with that bird.
