Just That Kind Of Day

Did you ever have a day where you just knew it was going to be "one of those kind" of days?  I went to a motivational speaker last year who said we should always wake up in the morning and say out loud: "Today is going to be the BEST day ever!"  Well, I didn't say that and it wasn't.  Nothing super crazy happened and frankly I'm not sure why I was not in the best mood.  Perhaps because I was going to get to work a little early today and be ready to take my CPR test at 7am sharp. I thought I had it all planned out. I had my breakfast and lunch made the night before and I was ready! But I couldn't find my phone and with the weather being beastly....another reason to have a bad day I guess...I didn't want to drive anywhere without it.  Here's how it went down: Jack:  "I 'll call your number and we'll listen for the phone to ring"....He dials the number....Jack: "Can you hear that buzzing?"  Me: "No". Jack dials again. Jack: "Can you hear that buzzing?" Me: "NO!"...Jack dials again. Me: " I hear the buzzing!" He dials again and finally I find it..under my side of the bed.  I told Jack I had no clue how it got there.  Of course he helped me figure it out...I took it there...duh. Ok, so now I'm leaving for work late.  Now I'm also mad.  I'm also hating Winter.  It's dango cold out here! Super freeze is back with some snow thrown in just to make sure our hate is complete. I park the car and make the trek...the long trek...limping all the way with my bad knee.  I did take my test and passed it so I should be a happy camper. No, not me..I had multiple things happen that just made me grumpy. I'm on call tonight and of course I had plans to go to a class at the Church tonight to learn "chair yoga"..or "choga" as I lovingly called it!  That was before 2 emergency cases kept me at work until 7pm.  So I guess that's my excuses and I'm sticking with them!  I never did see this:
That's the sun over the Pines...taken a few days ago.  I don't even know if the sun came out at all today! It was dark when I left for work..dark when I came home.  But I did find one part of the day that made me laugh.  My silly co-workers having some crazy down time before heading for home.  So even though I had to stay and work, I shot this video because it gave me a giggle.  See if you agree.  I won't be sad if you don't..because..well..it's just that kind of day!

Hi, YaYa! Wanna keep the hospital census way down and have less work to do? Make that video mandatory viewing for all prospective patients! (LOL)

Well, dear friend, it's been so long since you've been on I figured you were up to your ears in alligators as we say down south. I'm sorry the weather has been so harsh this winter. It was even below freezing here the last two nights. I'm pretty sure the earth has broken free of its orbit and is catapulting into deep space!

I'm glad you found your phone. When Jack dialed your number, it's a good thing EDDY didn't start ringing! :)

Here's hoping you have a much better tomorrow and a great weekend , dear friend!

I hate those days, they seem to sneak up on you and just won't let go. You work with some really cool peeps so I hope that helps. Stay warm and here's to a better tomorrow. ;j

We saw the sun today, but it's 10 degrees with the wind howling outside.
It's been a long time since we've had a winter this cold.

I had a day like that yesterday. Uggh. Loved the video. Having spent so much time at the hospital in the past month or so I can understand how these moments are needed. I don't know how nurses function some days with some of the things I have seen. You all need gold medals!

Loved the video. I literally said, "Oh Gosh", when the lady started choking. Ha! Hope your day today is better and warmer, but that snow....now that's a winner, said the girl from the south that rarely sees any and wishes she could get a 12 footer for just one day. LOL! Hey, I have an idea...You can borrow my ugly as homemade sin shawl. ;) Thanks for stopping by. Take care.

What? Mrs Sunshine, grumpy? Not you....
What a long day for you. I've had days like that too. I never thought of taking videos to break through the grumpyness. I love that video...

I was worried about your co-worker chocking. It doesn't take much to amuse you tired girls after a long day. I hope that you all have a great day today and that the sun is shining brightly.
Hugs,
JB

You have to have some fun. Seems your co-workers are good at that, and that is necessary in the workplace, especially a hospital, which can be so depressing.
I'm really tired of the cold too. Daydreaming about Spring is how my mind wants to spend any of its free time. Have a better day!

That pic of your house is a beauty! Sorry you had "one of those days"!! I've definitely had my share of those, too! Love the video -- just keep your sense of humor and here's to a better weekend!! TGIF!

It's really a bummer to have one of those kind of days, but I so get it. Fortunately, they are rare and you aren't the kind of girl to let it drag you down. You make a video to give us a smile. That weather you are having is awful. Just having the temperatures in the teens here is bad enough. But, your house looks like a Christmas card. :-)

Thanks for the laugh. My goodness is the catcher okay.
Stinkin cold here as well but we do live in the same state.
Sorry you had a rough day.
I am always leaving my phone in the car.
Stay warm and cozy.

Ah, surgical nurses at play. We all have those bad days, don't we? Glad you found your phone, and that the day wasn't a total loss. Summer will be here before we know it!

I was watching the video and chuckling, hoping the one nurse wouldn't choke, and then she did. Sorry to say, but that made me laugh out loud. What a funny pair!

And the way you described your day and the weather, I think your bad mood made perfect sense.

;)

Sounds like your coworkers made the best of a gloomy day. I guess you have to be a little goofy to let the day go by.

A day without sunshine IS "a day without sunshine" - no wonder you felt grumpy! Working with such silly/funny/goofy gals has gotta help, at least some. Hope you get some sunshine tomorrow, after a good night's sleep tonight.

Sorry you had a stinky day. :( I guess it happens to the best of us. It's cool though that you have co-workers that you can laugh so hard with at work! By the way, you take the best pictures of nature from your house. They're beautiful! Glad you found your phone. I left mine at church the other day. It's a horrible feeling not to be able to find it! Hope you have a better day tomorrow!
