Low Census

Today I was given a low census day. It happens every so often that we have enough staff to fill the day. One of our Docs is taking off for a mission trip (and taking our Donna (Starkey Hollow) with him!) and we wouldn't be as busy. It just happened to be my turn and I said "sure"...I never pass up a day off..without pay of course. Oh well, I knew I could fill my day with a chore that I have been putting off. Cleaning one of the rooms in our basement so I could use it to exercise. Our basement is a good size and this room was just turning into a glorified storage room. It's still pretty full and I'm planning on having a garage sale this Spring, but for now it will do nicely. Here's my before:
Here's the after:
Atleast I'll be able to hop around, stretch and bend to this lovely tape:
I enjoy this work out. It's about an hour and 10 minutes of constant movement that I can actually do with my sore knee. It's been a big help in my weight loss journey. There are a few different DVD's so try one out for yourself.
Eddy is so supportive of my efforts. He always hangs around and seems so amazed at my athletic ability...
He also likes to hang around the computer room and just chill. Sort of like me on my big free day!

That Eddy is my kind of guy! LOL!!

I've used Leslie Sansone DVD's before and really liked them. You've got the perfect place to "walk, walk, walk". Good job with the clean up!

Now Eddy has it right...that's the life! I used to kid my mom that I wanted to come back as her dog since she was so spoiled and treated so well!
Love low census days!

It's always nice to have a day off, even without pay. The transformation you made in your basement room is nothing short of phenominal..........sure leaves lots of room for your exercising. I do admire you lots for being able to stick with the program. Excersise is so important with any weight loss program.

I love how Eddy helps you! He is so smart and he really knows how to relax.

I do envy you. I just can't seem to get with any program at all. I am just maintaining at my new weight, which is 5 pounds too much. I really wanted to lose 10 pounds but every time we lose a couple, something comes up, a party here, a dinner there etc. Just enough to get us off and it is just so hard to get back on. I guess at this point I should be happy that I'm not gaining anyway.

Keep up the good work!

Great exercise spot, especially now that you've got it all organized! I wish I could get myself on a good exercise regimen.

A day off is always great, no matter how it happens. And it looks like you put your time to good use - the room looks great.

I'm so envious...a room all your own! I have one of her walking tapes but need to get a new one as I'm bored to tears with the old one. However, I do walk about 3 miles most days with my friend & neighbor. It's a good thing too cause I sure have been on an eating binge lately!!!

You go, girl! I'm learning to enjoy days off without pay. That's how I roll these days - if I don't work, I don't get paid, and I DO need vacations every so often! Don't you love how much you can get done when you have some uninterrupted time?

I recognize that DVD.. I just bought it and a couple of others, last week. I could use your help to clean out MY basement, though. Nice job. :)

Ya just gotta love that Eddy!!!

The room looks fantastic and ready for a workout!

Gee, I taught school for years and never had a census day. Sounds great.

God bless ya and have yourself a fantabulous weekend sweetie1!!! :o)

Hey YaYa! I have that same walking cd! I forgot about it, so I'm glad you showed the photo! I like it because you can do a little or a lot, and it doesn't get real boring. Lately I've been driving over to the gym, and either walking or doing the water aerobics. But, some days I just don't want to get in the car that early (5:30 or 6!)

Thank you for your supportive comments on my recent blog. I'm slow getting back to folks this week, but I appreciate your encouragement. I'll be praying for you, too!

Way to go girl with the exercise. I'm so glad that you have Eddie to support you. It's so important to be affirmed like that.

You are lucky that you have a nice exercise room in your basement.

I hope that your knee is getting to feel better.

I've been sick for the last few days with some kind of flu and my husband was sick a day ahead of me but not as bad. I'm feeling better now. JB
