Weekend In Review

This weekend was gone in a flash. We worked outside, had friends over for dinner on Sunday, watched a Grandkiddo play football, shopped, cleaned..all the usual things. For some reason I was tired this morning. I just felt like I needed more sleep, but work awaited me and I headed out. Lucky for me I was able to leave work a little early and when I got home I sat down and konked out for about an hour and a half! Whew..now I feel great! I wasn't too tired to notice what a beautiful sunrise we were having this morning though. Here's a peek just coming over the pines...
Friday morning started out cool and foggy. I'm not sure if taking pics while driving is smart...but I went slow and couldn't resist the view. On one of the blogs I follow she calls these shots: drive by shootings...very clever.
The fog on these cool mornings is amazing..then I hit town near the hospital..all clear.
This pic is a bit out of order..it didn't happen this weekend, it was Jack's birthday request dish. I make it every Father's Day and for his birthday. Shrimp creole..he loves it and it's pretty easy to make. This one was a real hit...according to Jack anyway!
We were able to see Anthony's first football game of the season this weekend. He's in 4th grade and I laughed when I saw all those kiddos with the pads, and big helmets..I think the helmets were as big as their bodies! They even have little cheerleaders who did a cute dance number at half time. Very fun!
Anthony, are you sure you're only 9? You did great in the game! They won by a ton..good job!
Since I started out with a sunrise, I'll close with this sunset...I like to think the rays are prayers being sent up to a listening and loving God.

Loved seeing and reading about your weekend. AND, I love thinking about the suns rays being prayers going up to God...When I shower I think of the water spray being God's blessings. Great visuals, don't you think?!

Beautiful pictures of such calm skies. Our skies have been so wild looking this past weekend.
I like it when young people look so proud of their team.

I loved seeing your grandson in his football gear. Reminds me of my boys way back when. I loved going to those games! See, I think where you live is beautiful. I'd love to see scenery like that every day! So gorgeous. And I wouldn't mind having a taste of that Shrimp Creole!

I loved your words about the sunset...quite lovely thoughts!

Your grandson looks to be a real jock, my three youngest boys all played football! My oldest said he was going to be there lunch and passed. Went on to play in the state final playoffs for baseball!

Anytime you need some Creole recipes...hollah!
Hugs~

Ahhh busy times with lots to see and do. I love those foggy shots and of the sun doing its thing at dawn and at dusk. Congrats to your little athlete. Oh and Yaya?.. my drive-by shootings are all taken from the passenger seat. Be safe! :)

Drive-by shootings --- I love it!!!

Your grandkiddo looks like a little stud in his football uniform! I hope you are teaching him to kick some booty on that field. :)

Did you say cool temps. OMG I am so jealous.
I am starting to look like that sausage I burned last week for supper. Temps always in the 100's are driving me crazy.
They play football in the 4th grade. OH no that means my Bailey is going to be playing next year. I am not ready for that. Your baby is tooooo cute in his uniform.
Glad you got some rest after work. It sounds like you needed it after such a busy weekend.
Have a good week
Love ya
Maggie

Had to come by your blog and say Hi! : ) Thanks for your visit to mine! Had to comment on this post because I have an Anthony and he played football from 8 years old through high school. We got more of a kick out of how these kids looked like they would fall over from the equipment than the game itself! Now he's in college for athletic physical therapy.
