Thunderheads

One day this past week, (I can't ever remember which day it was!)I was outside weeding my heart out. I was so enthralled with my work I never looked up to notice that the dark that was coming over me was not because it was getting late. When I finally did look up, the sky was black and the clouds were very weird looking. I ran and got the camera but was a bit disappointed because none of the shots looked as threatening as this sky looked. This one came the closest. Much rain fell and my yard does look as green in August as it did in May...and my roof is still attached. (dang!) I have the feeling that as soon as we get it reroofed then the disaster will strike. Yep, the glass is half empty today.

those clouds look quite ominous to me! Glad you got a little rain, it's been dry here, not sunny but dry nevertheless. If you can believe it!

Nice clouds. Glad you got rain in just the amount you needed. We need some here. All the lawns are going brown...

Beautiful sky.
We're on our 39th day of *100+ temps.
I qm losing most of my new shrubs. :-(

That was a much needed storm. I got my first ripened tomato after it. :)

Kyle was hoping the tree would take out our porch in a storm so we wouldn't have to pay to redo it either. The tree had to be taken down last fall.

Needless to say, that will be a project we will have to pay for.

Yaya, that looks like an Alabama sky :) We're dodging lightening bolts almost daily now.

Beautiful sky. I love the look of a threatening storm, and the smell of it in the air. Glass half empty? Some days are like that, aren't they? But it always turns around, my friend.

That sky reminds me of higher power. Beautiful but scary never the less.
Are you guys having your roof done? When we had ours done, the weight did not get distributed the right way and it seemed like the ceiling would crack. Turned out that they were suppose to have added a couple of extra beams in the ceiling of the attic so the new roof can sit properly. They had to come and put up the beams and then do the taping of the ceiling in our hall and the living room and repaint the ceiling.

Love Kim's comment.

And I agree that the sky pic looks pretty threatening!

WELCOME TO THUNDERDOME.
That totally defined my life at the beginning of summer. I am so tired of thunderstorms, but we haven't had one in a while, so I guess I can't really talk.

I'm sitting here enjoying listening to the rain..pretty sound even if the sky looked bad in your pic. Thankyou for the fabulous jam and pound cake that you are famous for...at our house at least! I loved your unexpected visit today!!!!

I so enjoy your blog Kathy that I've passed along a blog award to you. Read about it on mine, and know that you've given me a lot of enjoyment as I vicariously enjoy your beautiful world!

Call me crazy, but I love thunderstorms! Probably because we so rarely get them on the west coast! I like your photo! Hopefully, the rain helped clear the air in your area. I know it's been hot nearly everywhere but in our section of the USA.
Thanks for all your positive comments, Yaya! You help me keep a strong perspective!

Every picture you post lets me know how beautiful your home and surroundings are. It is like living in a park and it's a good thing that you love to weed and do all the yard work you do. I wish I could do that sort of thing. I am always wishing that my gardners would take a little more time with some of my plants. They don't treat my roses as I would if I could get out and feed them and do what I would like. Oh well, nothing can compare with hands on.

If your glass feels half empty, I am hoping that it will fill up a bit for you.

Ah, you've spoken to my weather girl heart on this one. A giant pile of stratocumulus clouds with probably an embedded cumulonimbus! The ragged underneath is caused from the downdrafts of the storm :) I JUST LOVE THE WEATHER. Its been great catching up on your life, I hate how busy I am these days :(

It is a beauty of a sky. Nature sure can get your attention when she wills it, eh?
