Hit The Ground Running!

The past week was fast and furious..many things to do and when the weekend came Jack and I never stopped moving as soon as the sun came up. Jack went and helped the Boy Scouts with a mulching project and I cheated and slept in a bit longer...then my feet hit the ground running. All the usual things that we do but also taking time to remember Moms, and celebrate our Granddaughter Alexis' birthday on Saturday. So before I go on, I must mention my wonderful Mom...She's the best! I'm very blessed to have her in my life and so thankful for her good health. Happy Mother's Day Mom!
Right after work on Friday, Jack and I headed over to our fav nursery to pick out the flowers that are given out on Sunday to all the Moms. Jack's done this for the last 100yrs...getting the flowers. But it gave me a chance to also find a few flats of my own to plant. I make a few more trips before they close around Father's Day. This place is huge! It has a ton of plants outside and in many more greenhouses on the property. A fun stop!
Saturday afternoon we went over to our Daughter-in-Law's parents home to celebrate our Granddaughter's birthday. The food was kid and adult friendly...everything was delish!
The cake was made by a friend of Amanda's..She makes amazing cakes. She needs to open her own business!
Our Son Phil with the his daughter, the birthday girl, Alexis.. Happy 5th birthday!
My Daughter-in-Law, Amanda, with little Addy.
Party game time! A little "Pin the horn on the Unicorn"..classic!
After the games it was time to open presents...the Princess and her loyal subjects!
Blowing out candles, even just one, needs the help of friends to make it even more special.
On Sunday I wanted ribs and we had actually invited our Missionaries over but they hadn't check their schedule and didn't come..We ended up with a bit more food than needed, but our boys came over later in the day and enjoyed the bounty! These ribs tasted as good as they looked.
My Granddog Eddy came with Jordan...a fun visit from our furry friend.
Well, that's all folks. A busy week that lead into a busy weekend. Full of the fun and crazy things that make up life. Happy Mother's Day to all Moms and I'll leave this post with a final say from our Granddaughter Addy...Yes, Addy, tomorrow is Monday and I know just how you feel!

Speaking of which, your mom's pic is so pretty! Happy Mother's Day to her and you!
Your ribs look wonderful. Those missionaries missed out....big time! Glad your boys were there to consume and make Mothers Day more special. I talked to all of ours but it was a quiet day planting and babysitting. it was a pretty day nonetheless!

Oh my goodness those ribs looked delicious! Your nursery pics got me in the mood to refresh the flowers on our porch and patio. I do love having lots of flowers! Your granddaughters are cute - I have 2 that have turned/are ready to turn 5 as well. Such a great age - they're just on the edge of so many adventures! My Mothers Day was much more quiet but nice nonetheless. I always love to see what you've been up to!

What a great weekend! It's really cool to see both ends of the generational spectrum here. Your mother is beautiful!

We still haven't got our flowers - it's been too cold and wet. Hopefully soon, or we'll be buying mums instead of geraniums.
