More Drama

Sometimes it feels like the trials never stop. Wednesday evening I was sitting reading a magazine when I felt a little weird and my left arm was weak. When I stood up my left leg also felt weak.  Jack took me to the ER to get checked out.  The weakness had gone away but they ran me through stroke checks. Blood work, CT scan, heart monitoring.  My blood pressure was sky high which was different for me who never had high blood pressure.  They kept me for 2 days doing MRI, heart scan, ultra sounds looking for clots. Very thorough.  Everything came back normal except for a small hole between heart chambers that could have allowed a small clot to go through.  My body took care of it so no damage.  So managing BP symptoms and other things like cholesterol  is now going to happen. Im grateful for Jack pushing me to get checked quick and for good care from the nurses and doctors.  Feeling blessed and hopefully this won't happen again. 🙏   When it comes to strokes, getting treatment ASAP is essential for a good outcome.  Mine was a TIA that could have turned into a full blown stroke if I had ignored my symptoms.  Im now hoping for a quiet, healthy May!

We are all thankful that, with Jack's persistent urging, you got checked out promptly, dear YaYa. With raised awareness, you will be able to more closely monitor what's going on in your body and take appropriate action if and when it becomes necessary. Wishing you and your family a healthy, happy and peaceful May, dear friend YaYa!

Things can change in the blink of an eye. I'm so glad Jack was there and insisted to have you checked. Some are not as lucky and suffer permanent damage. Getting older comes so gradually that we don't notice until we have a crisis. Stay well and healthy.
Hugs,
Julia

You have really been run through the wringer of late. I hope this is the last of it. My mother had many TIA's...which was strange as she had low blood pressure all her life and no history of high cholesterol. Glad you have a caring husband and got good care and that there was no permanent damage. You are indeed blessed.

Yaya, Richard had a TA years ago after hernia surgery. Quite a frightful thing! I know it was scary for you and Jack too. Take great care! I take tablets for blood pressure and also statins for cholesterol. Lots of folks do, I bet!
