Saturday my sister, Midge, my nieces Amy and Katie, their daughters, Brooke and Ella arrived at the Pines. We celebrated Brooke's 19th birthday that night.
The #9 had a little accident! Sunday morning we piled into Amy's van and we took off for a road trip to Maine. We stopped first at Niagara Falls so the kids could see them .
After lunch we headed to Albany, New York for the night. The weather took a stormy turn. Katie did a fabulous job of driving through that and getting us to the hotel safe and sound. A van full of us gals is full of crazy stories, lots of laughs, snacks and a few naps. It was pretty quiet through that part though! Monday we loaded up again and decided to stop in Boston and check it out. So dang crazy! Worse traffic than Chicago for sure.
Sorry, all out of tea! Then it was full speed ahead to Portland, Maine. After getting settled we left Brooke at the hotel for a virtual college class and we went to dinner.
Pretty view from our outside table.Me, Midge, Ella, and Amy. Katie was snapping the pic. We did bring food for Brooke to enjoy after her class.Lobster roll anyone?Oh bouy! Thats all for now. Tomorrow we're going to spend the day in Salem, Massachusetts. Bye until the next adventure!

Wow - that is a great trip. What fun! It's so neat that you could make this trip with people you love and enjoy. So glad that your summer is going well. :-)
Hi, YaYa!
Thank you for taking us along on your all-girl New England travel adventure, dear friend! Your camera captured excellent pictures of the group and the places you stopped as you made your way toward Maine. Lovely, lovely sights! I always enjoy relaxing on a wharf and watching the boat activity on the water, and the food looks delicious - enough to buoy anyone's spirits. :)
Happy birthday to Brooke! Please save those two candles for me. It won't be very long until I can use them on my b-day cake, only in reverse order. :)
Drive safely, enjoy the rest of your trip and keep taking those postcard quality pictures to show us here on your blog. If time allows, please join me this coming Sunday, Monday or Tuesday when I will be salivating my 17th blog anniversary. Take care until we meet again, dear friend YaYa!
What a fun gals trip you are going on. I loved going to Boston, but that was 30 years ago. So much history there. Always wanted to see Salem. so look forward to seeing it via your perspective. Happy belated Birthday to Brooke. Safe travels. Janice
How fun! You know how very envious I am of you getting to see Salem - except I would need much, much, more than a day. Wishing you safe travels and great memory-making!
