Love Is In The Air

Do you do up Valentine's Day big?  Is it just a way for Hallmark to sell cards? I guess I feel that any day that celebrates LOVE is a good day.

Perhaps flowers are involved in your V-Day celebration....
Candy in a pretty box your cup of joy?
Maybe a plant that says Spring is not far off after all!
How about a cozy dinner for two with a glass of bubby? Even if the bubby is sparkling cider. Even if the dinner isn't steak and lobster but stuffed peppers.  If it's spent with someone you love it's a win-win no matter the menu!
How about a decadent chocolate fudge cake sprinkled with chocolate dipped strawberries and hearts? Yep, any day that celebrates LOVE can't be all bad.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi, YaYa!

Happy V-Day +1, dear friend!

Your subject line brought back memories of my years as a bachelor dancing in discos to the 1977 top 10 hit "Love Is In The Air" sung by John Paul Young. Yessum, it looked like love was definitely in the air at The Pines this Valentine's Day, along with the sweet smell of that lovely floral arrangement on the table. I noticed and admire the heart and flowers tablecloth. I am very happy to know that it was a happy, relaxing day for you and Jack, albeit a modest, scaled back celebration. I should use a Shadyism here and call it a "salivation," because I prefer stuffed peppers to steak and lobster, and that candy and your deluxe cake have me slobbering down here!

Thanks for showing us your beautiful decorations. Have a wonderful week, dear friend YaYa!

Well it sounds and looks like you did it up in style! We exchanged cards I bought him a new puzzle and he took me shopping for a new table for my craft room and we found one at a resale store. Just a perfect day for us!
happy belated valentine's day

You went right over the top with Valentine. I'm not a romantic type of person but I feel love should be celebrated every day, not just one day a year and Valentine is an opportunity for businesses to make big bucks and for Hallmark to sell more cards.

When I was young, Valentine's Day was for school children to exchange lots of little valentines with friends.

But just the same, that cake sure looks delicious, the tulips are announcing that spring is not far away, flowers and chocolate speak of love. I'm glad that you could spend a happy day with your precious husband that you almost lost. You have every reason to celebrate big.

Take care,
Hugs, Julia

What a beautiful pictorial V-day. No we didn't do it up big this year, BUT NEXT YEAR (out of this mess of a pandemic) I plan to do it up BIG. That is at least a HOPE. LOL
Beautiful pictures and a great visit here.
Love from a rainy south.

Chocolate says it all. Flowers are also a wise decision!

Hubby and I don't celebrate this day. We did however have a nice dinner of shrimp scampi and twice baked potato which I made. What a delicious looking cake! Janice
