Fall Is Creeping In

As the daylight gets shorter and the night cools down to almost chilly temps..last night was in the 40's..it seems like Fall is doing a trial run before the real date arrives.  I love the cooler days and low humidity but I'm a bit sad that I'll have to close the pool up this weekend.  I say "have to" because when it's that cool at night the water never warms up to be able to swim comfortably.  Once the tarp is on and the winterizing chemicals all in, I guess that's a real indication Summer is done.  Anyway, tonight I took a walk up to the Creepy Woods as the sun was starting to set.  The light looked so pretty.  This shot gives a glimpse into how Fall is creeping into the Creepy Woods:

So as the sun was quickly heading down I snapped a shot through the pines:

Night all!

Hi, YaYa!

Your overnight temps are already dipping down to the 40s? It seems like fall is getting antsy. I hope a blizzard doesn't strike before you can get the pool secured for winter. Your pictures of the Creepy Woods and the sunset through the pines are lovely. Did you run into the Yeti? You are fortunate to be able to walk a short distance from your house and find a spot that offers such beauty and serenity. I hope your mind is more at ease this week and that both your dear mother and sister are doing better. My prayers continue for them and for you, dear friend.

Hi Yaya, I hope that you still have lots of nice weather ahead. I love this time of year but it's a busy time. The potatoes needs digging and i'm pickling like crazy because we still have lots of cucumbers even though we gave tons of it away. The leaves are starting to change here too and I like the cooler temperatures to sleep at night.

I hope your mom and sister are doing better this week. I never got the chance to leave a comment on your last post but it sounded like a week from hell.

Take care and have a great week.
Hugs,
Julia

Such pretty pictures! Fall is slowly creeping in here too. Now we are waking up in the dark and sometimes eating dinner in the dark. This year flew by!

Great photos. I love your Creepy Woods so much. We narrowly escaped a frost last night, and now have a couple of warmer weeks predicted ahead of us. I can't tell how pleased I am that my flowers get to continue for another two weeks at least.

Have a lovely week,
Andrea

I find myself looking forward to fall, but I will miss the pool, too. My grandkids have loved it so much this summer.
I think we may be able to hang on to the swimming through September...

Fall is pretty in your creepy woods. We hardly get a colorful fall. Just dead leaves start falling. My husband wants to make an RV trip to see the fall colors in the next few weeks. I told him to plan the route and itenirary and I'd pack my bags and ride along. My babysitting day's end this week so I'll need something to do.
