2016

Happy New Year!  Another blog post that's photo free...that's weird for me!. I'm sure it won't be the norm for long!  I'm still in the blogging business for now so I didn't want to let January 1st slip by without a greeting.  I do enjoy a fresh start don't you?   Life is full of surprises..the good and the bad.  Last year was a difficult one for some of my friends and some of my family made life changing decisions.  My older brother moved to Georgia, near his wife's family.  I have another brother who moved permanently to Florida.  With another brother living in Georgia, one in Wisconsin and us in Ohio it leaves my sister as the lone sibling in Illinois.  Her kiddos and grandkiddos are there and I know her and Mom will make the best of it.  It's funny that I've lived in Ashland for almost 40yrs now and I still think of Chicago as my home.  Can one have 2 places that say "HOME"?  Ashland is certainly home too since we have kids and grandkids, friends, jobs and a life here that I've come to enjoy.  Well, I'm claiming both places and find the good and the different in them and will continue to enjoy that!  So let's bring on a new year shall we?   Happy 2016!

I do like fresh beginnings. Jilda and I are working on our vision boards for this year.
It's finally cooling off herein Alabama. I bet it's getting cooler there in Ohio too.

It's so hard when family members move away and get scattered around. We miss out on a lot of family gatherings. That's why I like using Skype to keep in touch once in a while.

I hope all the changes you make this year are positive one and changes that makes you happy.
I'm a day late to change my calendars.

Have a very good year dear Yaya.

Hugs,
JB

Hi, YaYa! Happy New Year once again!

It's January 2 already. This year is really flying by! :)

I know it's tough to have family scattered around the country. Many of my family members are back home in Pennsylvania and Mrs. Shady has family in Maryland, Alabama, Texas and California.

You asked:

<< Can one have 2 places that say "HOME"? >>

Of course, I still think of York, PA, as home. I have lived in four other cities since leaving York but can't say that any of them have felt like home to me. I will let you know once again that Whispering Pines seems like home to me. Seeing pictures of your family gatherings takes me home to a life I left behind and fills a void.

I hope your year is off to a great start, dear friend YaYa.

God bless you and your loved ones!

Don't they say home is where the heart is? Seems like your heart is big enough to be able to claim two places as home :) I think that's neat.

It is hard though when family and friends move away. We are usually the ones that did that over the years, but surprisingly if we can pull it together, by the grace of God, we might be making a move closer to loved ones (one day I'll be able to blog about it :)

Happy New Year!

I'm still trying to figure out where I should call home now after our move. It leaves you feeling in limbo. Hopefully, 2016 will be the year for that settling feeling for us. And I hope you have a glorious new year, yourself. :)

I totally "get" where you're coming from. I was born and raised in Oklahoma until 12 years ago when we made the move to Louisiana. Now we're back in OKlahoma. I like Oklahoma, but I LOVE Louisiana. I claim it as my home state when in fact I've spent most of my life in Oklahoma. Happy New Year Ms. YaYa!

Your picture free post has it's own unique style. Very charming. Left a lot of room for talk.

I have lived in New York for over forty years and yes I still refer to my parent's home as home. Just like you I have two homes too, mine and my parent's. My parents are not with us, the house is sold and all my siblings are here in the US. When we sit down and talk about our childhood, I wish that I could visit my home as I did when my parents were alive, but we move on. I have kids and grand kids here in the US and now this is my home.
So let us celebrate the homes we love along with the New Year's celebrations.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES. Take care of yourself as you take care of your patients.

Absolutely! I feel like I have two homes, the one I'm in now, and where I was 4 1/2 years ago, a province away. Maybe it was my stage of life, the fact that we renovated our last home entirely, and made it our own, or the friends I made there, but I can't stop thinking of Cold Lake, AB as my home. I'm currently living where I was born and grew up. Both my husband's and my own family are here, my kids love it here, and I do love my home here, but I still miss Cold Lake.

It took me a long time to stop thinking of the town I grew up in as home. We've been in our current home for more than 20 years, and it truly is home in every sense of the word. Happy New Year! Hoping this year is full of blessings for you.

I feel that home is both Northern and Southern California, so my answer to your question is yes!
