September Blessings

I can't believe September is here already.  Fall will arrive in a few weeks.  We are seeing leaves turning color already and school will start here on Tuesday. Late for Ashland kiddos.  Our town just built new schools and they wanted to make sure they were all up and running so they decided to start after Labor Day.  It will make for a late closing next year but at least the kids will have wonderful buildings to go to every day. Blessings for sure!  Our little garden is producing beautiful tomatoes this year:
I'll be doing some freezing tomorrow so we can enjoy this bounty in the Winter...more blessings.  We finally are getting some needed rain.  After such a rainy Spring and early Summer, we hit a hot and dry spell in month of August.  But skies like this promise the water the farmers need:
Thunderheads on the horizon.  Last night after taking this shot I continued up my country road.  I thought even the weeds looked beautiful!
They make this old barn feel special!  Speaking of special....today is my #2 son's 38th birthday.   Happy Birthday Craig!  He's such a good guy....so fun and smart and spending time with him and his family in Oregon was great.  He went from this:
A cutie little baby....
To this...a cutie grownup who'll always be my baby!  Wonderful blessings for this month of September are all around us aren't they?  Hope you have many blessings and a great last Summer holiday weekend of Labor Day.  Enjoy your blessings!

That's a great picture of the sky. Our garden was sad this year. My sister-in-law who ALWAYS has a bountiful garden didn't have much either. It was a strange year for weather here...but we didn't have tornados.
Good post Yaya.

Hi, dear YaYa! You're right. Blessings can be counted everywhere if you open your eyes and look around you. I'm delighted to learn about the new schools that will be opening in your area on Tuesday. Kids who have clean modern schools look forward to attending and learning. I am tempted to lick my screen in an effort to taste those luscious tomatoes of yours. Down here the tomatoes taste like plastic - recycled plastic! Wasn't it nice of mother nature to offer that old barn a bouquet of flowering weeds? Happy birthday to Craig. He has his mother's good looks. I wish you and your family a safe and happy Labor Day weekend, dear friend YaYa!

Happy Birthday to your handsome son #2.
Feeling a lot of gratitude for the bounty and blessings this year too and Sometime I'm overwhelmed with what to do with it all. I'm still pickling and preserving. It's amazing what you get out of one little seed.

School always start the day after Labor Day here and it's better because it's cooler for the kids to learn. August is alway too hot and humid to learn.

Goldenrods looks so beautiful in a bouquet.
Have a great long weekend.
Hugs,
JB

Those tomatoes look yummy!! Happy birthday to your son! Glad you got to see him recently too! It is amazing it is September already!

Growing up, we always started school after Labor Day and got out mid June. It seems "weird" for me to see kids going back to school in August :)

I hope you enjoy the weekend!

I haven't been reading blogs this summer, so I completely missed the fact that you were 30 minutes away from me! It sounds like you had a great time. It's certainly been one of our most beautiful summers ever - except for the smoke. This is my first year of not going back to school, so I'm getting to thoroughly enjoy my very favorite time of year with no distractions. I hope you're settling easily back into the routines of life.

Happy Birthday to your cutie grownup baby! Still getting tomatoes, huh? Mine have long gone. Well, I only got about 5 tomatoes this year. So weird. I had to buy tomatoes to can. We did have a bumper crop of cherry tomatoes, though. Oh girl, just seeing those yellow flowering sneeze makers have me running for the Zyrtec. I can't seem to catch a break with the allergies this year. Hope you have a great weekend. I know you have something cooking up at your place.

Great photo's honey! I love to come by here and see what you have been up too.
Glad to read about your many Blessings! Those are a lot of tomatoes and I know later into winter you will really enjoy them again.
Your son is so handsome and I do hope he had a wonderful Birthday!
Hard to believe that summer is ending but like you we had a long hot dry August. I am looking forward to cooler temps and no mowing. haha
Wish we had changing of the leaves here but no such luck. I wrote today a post about wanting to run a way to Vermont. Want to join me!
Love ya
Maggie

Your son looks like YOU! Happy Birthday to him! So many blessing indeed. It's amazing when you have a grateful heart all the blessings you are able to see....even the weeds :) I can't remember the last time we have had rain....our grass is very "crunchy" when we walk on it...but the good news for my husband is he hasn't had to mow in quite some time. :)

How exciting for your town that you have new schools...I bet that makes it easier for students and teachers to head back. Speaking of school....I have to get myself to work! Have a great week!

We've had such shot summer, and I am really looking forward to fall. Hopefully we'll get some rain, too. We are sorely in need of it with this drought going on.
