It's A Shoe In

I was happy to kick January to the curb, as I'm sure most of the country who had the horrible weather would agree.  I'll welcome February because it's the shortest month! I don't need a rodent to tell me whether or not we have 6 more weeks of Winter. I just looked out the window.  I snapped this pic from my computer room window not more than 10 seconds ago~ (grainy because of the screen)
You probably can't tell it's actively snowing, but you can see the frosting on the pine trees. It's still beautiful and I'm not really complaining. Really! But I'm ready for a little sparkle so I'll show you my new work shoes.
The red sparkly ones on the left are compared to the well worn ones on the right. What you can't see on the old ones is the blood, sweat, and miles of standing that went into them. (Well, maybe you can..they do look pretty nasty!) They served me well. I wasn't thrilled about wearing shoes that had ties because of what falls on them in a day to day work situation...then coming in and having to tie them up the next morning...eewww! But they were comfortable and that's most important. But it was time for a change.
Can you see the hole in the top? So sad. Anyway, I'm all spiffy now and ready to rock the rest of this year. Red goes good with February as we celebrate national heart month along with Valentines day.  So kiss a groundhog and grab a snow shovel...we've got 6 more weeks of winter...I'm betting that's a "shoe in"!

Hello, dear YaYa! It's February 2nd and you know what that means at Whispering Pines. If the Yeti comes out of the Creepy Woods and see's his shadow... :)

Down here we look forward to six more weeks of winter for obvious reasons. Few Floridians are eager to begin another long season of heat, humidity, skeeters, spiders, snakes, lightnin' bolts and 'canes!

I hope your sparkly red shoes are comfortable and serve you well on the job. Over the years Mrs. Shady has occasionally made the mistake of wearing cruel shoes to work, making for a very long day.

Question: Does Eddy get your nasty old shoes to add to his toy collection?

Happy February, dear friend YaYa. Let's make it a great one!

Love your new sparkly Klogs. I bet you will have lots of envious co-workers. They're the bomb...

We had heavy wet snow over night and it's mild so I don't mind that kind of weather at all. It's the damp cold that bothers my joints.

It's overcast and that suits me fine as the groundhog is not seeing his shadow so we'll have an early Spring if he's right.

Have a great week. JB

You're so funny! I agree...we got slammed with more of that white stuff yesterday here in Michigan... Record snow for Michigan in January, how about Ohio?

It too am happy to have January behind us. but a big storm is on the way for Wed of this week I think a foot or more is what the predication is so maybe they will be wrong. I lovvvvve red shoes and have several. I wear them because anytime I have had it during the day I can click my heels together and chant there is no place like home.

I love your new shoes! They are so pretty and sparkly. The best part is that they look comfortable and according to the look of your old work shoes, it looks like you are on your feet a lot!

Now if you have a bad day at work you can just click your heels and repeat, "there's no place like home" a few times! :)

The scenery that surrounds you is simply beautiful to admire from afar. We are very cold here and still in need of some good soaking moisture.
The shoelace thing never would have occurred to me, but ewwww. I like the red sparkly shoes and hope they will help you keep your standing comfortably.
Happy February. It will be spring before you know it.

Those are some great-looking shoes! And it will be nice having sliders.

=)

PS. So strange how you have more precipitation than you could ever want or need and we have none at all. Figures, eh?
