A Berry Eddy Week

I do try to do more than one post per week. This blog is suppose to be my little journal after all. I've just been a bit busy which is probably another way of saying not much has actually happened. This coming week will pull some action out however. I'm going to be in the newspaper the week of July 4th. I've already been interviewed and the photographer is coming tomorrow night. I wish I could say it was because I'm so stinking interesting that I was actually news worthy. But no..it's because one of my coworkers..and you know who you are...signed me up for the "Cook of the Week" column. I did it about 28yrs ago and I guess it's going to happen again. Somehow a pic me standing in front of a bunch of food doesn't thrill me. I also don't think People Magazine will be calling any time soon. So, to go along with the food theme, here's what we've been picking at the Pines. Black raspberries are in and so far this batch was made into a cobbler..all gone..and the next group is waiting to be juiced for jelly. The red raspberries are on their way. I picked a few yesterday but somehow they've disappeared..into my mouth. Oh well. I'll give all the gory details of "Cook of the Week" later.
This should be "Pic of the Week". When I came home early from work last week I encountered this...Eddy taking a nap on the couch..did I mention he's not allowed on the couch? I thought for sure he got the memo.

The newspapers likes to put local people in the newspapers because it sells newspapers and people like to read about people they know.

I think that with all the great cooking you do you are news worthy.

Those berries looks so juicy, I can almost taste it.

Tell Donna that I'm still thinking and praying for her daily. I hope that she is hanging in there.

Big hugs to both of you. JB

Yum, black raspberries are my favorite! And now I'll have to actually look for the ATG. I usually just catch online headlines because I'm too cheap to buy it, but for your recipes I might just have to spring for one. :)
Eddy's a cute dog.

Berries are my favorite. So expensive this year. WE should grow some. Are they hard to start?
Good luck with the story in the newspaper. Share it with us, please.
Blessings.

Oh, I'm so jealous that you have your own berries to pick! We have to pay $2.50/pint - and that's on sale! Love your dog. We used to have a little dog that wasn't allowed on my mom's bed, but when she's leave the house she'd come home and see little paw indentations all over her bedspread. He was a funny little dog...

I think every dog on the planet missed that memo! He looks rather comfy...I must say. Have a fun week and be sure to share you 'story'...;j

What a cheerful post! Sounds like you are having a lovely summer! I'd love to be able to grow some berries around here. We have 4 blueberry bushes and the birds always beat us to the good ones. Oh well at least it keeps us having birds in the garden.
I think I'd be asking Eddy to move over if I was as busy as you!
Time to put your feet up for a change!
Hugs~

Your black raspberries look so good...I bought some the other day and almost had to take out a loan to get them!
Your last picture is hilarious! Looks like he's enjoying that comfy couch he's not suppossed to be on!

Wow! Those berries look scrumptious! I think it is so neat that you can raise your own! When my sis was still alive, they used to have so many raspberry bushes and how I loved going to Nampa, Idaho to feast on them. It was always the first time I was able to eat my fill of them, so love to do that once a year!

How interesting that you will be a celebrity, even if it is just a local one. I will be waiting to hear the results of that happening.

I love the picture of Eddy taking a nap on the couch. Isn't it funny how so many dogs love to sleep on their backs? I think it is very endearing.

Well good for you. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.

That pooch is too comfortable. You didn't wake him, did you? :) Yeah, I know.. he's big for a sofa.

Your new blog layout is nice but I find it distracting to read through what looks like ink scratches.. or blackberry stains. ;)

Thinking of Donna daily and wishing her well! I'm so envious of anyone who has the patience to be a good cook, and think someone like you who is a good cook is deserving of a mention in the paper!

Eddie is too funny! Our boxer,Eva Jean, will nap on anything that she's able to get on, including the hanging swing out back. They do keep us entertained!
