Let's Not Forget
Today at work they made an announcement over the PA at 11:00am...a moment of silence to remember our Veterans. It's hard to quiet an operating room but we did it. I'm not sure if all our operating rooms were at a point where silence could be observed, but I was glad to take just a minute and say a prayer of thanks for all those men and women who gave their time and/or their lives to keep our freedoms. I was sorry a minute was all that was allowed, but believe me I never forget those brave souls. Men like my Dad who served in WWII. Men like my brothers Phil and Greg who served in Vietnam. Thanks to all who served and continue to serve today. I wish we could have a day to rejoice a time of complete peace in the world. I guess we just have to be content for now for a special day to just remember. Thank You Veterans.

We had a large turn out at our local ceremony. Its nice to see that people still remember and show respect.
Wow...didn't we just get home from work....and you are already blogging?!! You ARE wonder woman (I already knew that!)
Our OR didn't even hear that announcement. Jen and Dr. R talked about being vets though and having it on your driver's license.
You are right, I don't think we begin to realize the sacrifices that they make for our country.
Your dad looks like such a friendly guy in his uniform. Hard to think about bearing a gun or other weapon.
Good post Yaya!
Happy Veterans Day to all of the heroes out there! I am thinking of both of my grandpas today. R.I.P.

That's really neat that they did that. Makes me happy.
=)
Our choir did a fun thing today, it brought tears to my eyes.
What a nice thing to do. It really inspires awe to think about all of the sacrifices made on behalf of our country.
And let's take steps to insure our soldiers return to jobs and families supported by their communities.
What an excellent thing for them to do. I'm remembering my dad today along with all the brave men and women who served.
Ahmen sister.
Perfectly stated. Amen to every word here.
We are surrounded by GIs and even some young kids were in fatigues on Firday. It does break my heart, but I rather talk to them on veteran's day than memorial day. It is heart breaking both the times but I rather hear the veterans talk than family members of people who lost their lives.
Love the photo of your dad!
You can practically just say the word "veteran" and I start crying! haha The worst is parades...I cry every time I see the veterans marching. I am so grateful for them and for their sacrifices for us.
P.S. Sandy doesn't have your email address.:(
А nice photo.
What a wonderful world will be without wars!
I thank God each and ever day for these brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
This was a beautiful tribute sweetie.
God bless and have a marvelous day!!! :o)
