Good morning! (well, for at least the next few minutes!) I've been struggling with getting posts out. Not because of anything tech going wrong. I guess I'm not sure why? I'm not sure if it has to do with nothing really to post about or I'm just being blog lazy. Whatever the reason I'm here today to post about Easter happenings we had over the weekend. We were suppose to have kind of nasty weather. We did have some pretty good rainfall on Saturday that had me and Jack running for the car with a cart full of groceries. When we finally had it all safe and sound in the car we sat and looked at each other and just had to laugh. We were soaked! Jack had water running down his face and I looked like a drowned rat. But I still needed some stuff at the dollar store so wet or not, we headed there. We were expecting family on Sunday around 1:00 for Easter feasting and we weren't disappointed. We ended up with 22 plus 5 dogs! The weather on Sunday turned out fabulous! Sunny and 70de made it possible to be outdoors for the egg hunt and on the deck for those who wanted to eat out there.
Gathering around the island to load up those plates!I believe that is dog Theo blocking Jordan from his trip to the food. We had Theo, Briny (Driana and Jonathan's dogs), Kip (Jack and Evelyn's), Happy (Summer's dog), and of course, Annabelle to round out the canine group. Even with 22 humans we were one short. Cameron ended up having to work. I thought it was cute when he texted his Dad to make sure to bring home some food! Some of the dining room group...Evelyn, Anthony, Anthony's girlfriend Becca, Summer and Jackie.Jack, Driana, Jonathan, and little Hazel, (our step-great grandkiddo), decided to sit outdoors. I felt bad we didn't have the deck all put together but the weather kept us from hauling out the furniture. That's a project for this week once I get the deck scrubbed up. After dinner we gathered up the only littles that were here and had an egg hunt. We only had Hazel and her little sister, Tatem but they had a blast hunting!Tatem was ready to go.
Hazel made sure she had on her egg hunting boots!
Just a few at first.
Whoa! A real haul at last!
She did share with her little sis.

Hi, YaYa!
Thanks for sharing the highlights of this year's Easter celebration at Whispering Pines, dear friend! You were indeed lucky the rain chose to fall on Saturday instead of Sunday. I'm glad you had ideal weather for the egg hunt and other outdoor activities. It's great to see pictures of the gang. Sorry to hear that Cam needed to work that day. Instead of giving individual shout outs to everyone as I usually do, I will simply say hi to all, especially little Hazel and Tatem, my bow-wow buddies Theo, Briny, Kip, Happy and Annabelle and, last but not least, to my furry friend The Yeti down in his den deep in the Creepy Woods. I remember how excited I used to get as a child when taking part in Easter egg hunts. My dad was president of the local chapter of the Lions Club and the club sponsored a community Easter egg hunt every year. Half the fun was coloring the eggs beforehand. Dozens of Lions and their families gathered in the basement of a restaurant and spent a whole day decorating the eggs to be used in the hunt. Those are some of my fondest childhood memories. I can close my eyes and picture that basement and still smell the dye.
Over the past week, our weather turned delightfully milder. The mercury even reached 80 over the weekend. I look forward to seeing more flowers blooming on your property in the weeks and months to come.
Thanks again for the 2025 Easter wrapup, dear friend YaYa. I'll be back with a new post at Shady's Place this coming Monday, April 28, and invite you to drop by if you can. Until then, enjoy the rest of your week and have a safe and happy weekend!
I thoroughly and completely enjoyed this post Kathy! What a wonderful Easter celebration you hosted! And that's quite the crowd! I'm glad the weather cooperated or 5 dogs with 22 people inside would be a bit much. Love the egg hunt...and little Tatem's red curls are so, so, sweet! I can't believe you have blooming tulips - and dandelions - already. It will be a while here yet although I do have tulips that are showing themselves finally. Hopefully the rabbits won't get them. It's sure to be a bumper crop of the critters this year...I am seeing them EVERYWHERE!
Hi Yay! Looks like everyone at Whispering Pines had a fun Easter. You and your clan really do the holidays up right! See you again soon!
Oh you had a grand time with an amazing gathering!!! That does look like quite the haul on the eggs. So glad you posted about your Easter we were only 16.
Cathy
What a lovely Easter celebration!
WOW you had a busy house full didn't you. Looks like everyone had fun and such a grand egg hunt you hosted too. That would have been a sight to see both you and Jack all drenched. It made for a good memory though. I just saw a yellow tulip in my garden today and it was already wilting...not sure where my head was that I missed seeing it beforehand. Thanks for sharing your Easter with us. It was fun reading all that you did. Janice
