Friday The What??

I overheard a few conversations today that had folks asking the date and when it was revealed to be Friday the 13th...well, you know how the reaction to this date usually goes. Where you afraid? Superstitious?  Thinking it was the reason behind every bad thing that happened to you today?  It's the first one of the new year.  Heck, it might even be the only one this year! If so then it's good to get it over with early!  However, I am not afraid or worried about the date....nor do I change my routine in any way.  I always walk carefully, drive cautiously, avoid ladders, black cats, and old wives tales.  Besides, I won the coin from the lucky bread...remember?!  However, I have great respect/fear for a full moon. That has been known to  be a bad omen.  The surgery and OB department would all agree with me on that!  Wait, is today also a full moon and Friday the 13th????  No matter, I'm not on call! Ha!  So I'll just continue to hang out at home tonight because it's been a crazy, very tiring week,  Even Chubbs is worn out:
To show how lucky today actually is, I received my blog book in the mail.  It wasn't due to arrive until next week so it was my lucky day today!
Love the cover this year! To prove even more how unafraid I am of Friday the 13th, I had a hair appointment scheduled for today.
Yep, I ain't afraid of the number 13!

Hi, Yaya!

Happy Friday the 13th to you, dear friend, (what's left of it). I hope you don't get a sudden urge to go skydiving, cliff diving, bungee jumping or to ride over Niagara Falls in a barrel between now and midnight. Those activities will all be much safer tomorrow when Friday the 13th is officially behind you. :)

I'm happy to learn that you didn't have to drive the icy roadways in to work today and that you and Chubbsie got to spend lots of time lounging around at the Pines. I knew today was Friday the 13th but it didn't phase me. It was actually a good day, better than most.

How proud you must be to keep a library of your blog year by year. What an excellent way to keep a permanent record of your large and wonderful family's history and remember the faithful friends who have taken this journey with you. I hope your blog for the year 2017 will document many happy occasions. I am proud to be here with you as we proceed through another year as friends.

Your haircut looks very cute!

Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend YaYa!

I actually worked for an Irish doctor years ago whose mother had all her kids spend the entire day in bed on Friday the 13ths. He still had a bit of superstition, but at least didn't spend the day in bed :)There is definitely something about the full moon though......glad you aren't on call :)

It seems to me people drive extra crazy when there is a full moon.

Sawyer was born on Friday the 13th, a few moons ago, so it's a good day for me. I keep saying I'm going to put my blogs into a book, too. I should put that on my projects list. Thanks for showing us yours.

Saturday the 14 was more bad lucky for me than Friday the 13th. My water pipes were frozen in my end of the barn. Heavy wind over night rattled the inside door open and it took an extra hour to thaw the frozen pipes.
I ain't afraid or superstitious of Friday the 13th either.

It was your lucky coin that kept you home on such a busy night.
Have a great weekend too. Hugs, Julia

Well I was hired for my current job on Friday the 13th and that was 19 years ago so I guess it worked out. Lol. Not sure I would want a surgery on Friday the 13th though.....

Beautiful as always Yaya! We used to do a history of Friday the 13th with my 6th graders. A lot of bad things happened in history on that day...I think that is why it gets a bad rap.

Yeah, I didn't even realize Friday the 13th was coming until the Thursday before and then I forgot about it!

Love the hairstyle - shows there's nothing wrong with the 13th.

Congratulations on the blog book. That is a great idea. Also your blogs are wholesome and your style is quite good.

I am not afraid of the number 13 either. I think people give it more importance than they need to, but who am I to say anything. My culture is full of superstitions.

There was a fatal accident on the Mid- Hudson Bridge in Hudson Valley on Tuesday. If it was on Friday the 13th people would have attributed the accident to bad luck.
