Fall? Not Quite...But Close!

This morning I took a quick pic of the outside temp my car was posting.  48de. was actually 4de warmer than the radio was saying it was! We've had some cool mornings but it looks like it will be a bit more consistent as the days draw closer to Fall.  This weekend the weather on Saturday was cool and rainy.  We took a trip to the apple orchard....it seemed the perfect day for it!
These quickly turned into this:
Apple pie......and this went quite well this:
A pot of chili!  I mentioned to my son I was making chili for Sunday and he and the gang came over to test it out!

Sunday the rain has cleared out and the temps warmed a bit and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck and the kiddos played some football in the yard.  The chili and goodies were eaten and we had a very enjoyable day!  Love it when food, fun and family all come together in perfect harmony!  I'm ready for Fall and more fun as my favorite season holds tons of busy family and friend activities..and more fun for blogging too!

Hi, dear YaYa! I wasn't boycotting you. Your new post just now showed up in my roll for the first time. Still no Eddy? :( I hope my old buddy's AOK.

After all these months of heat and humidity I would love to experience 48 degrees. Shucks, I would love to experience 84 degrees! :) Looks like lots of good eatin' and family fun at the Pines this past weekend. I hope you're getting into the spooky spirit for Halloween. I always enjoy seeing your decorations. No Squeak around this year, which is very sad.

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend YaYa!

Thank you for such a wholesome post. Yes, the temps are already dropping here too. I am fine with a little bit of chill after ninety degrees days, (that chilli does look very tempting and so does that Apple Pie for the desert. No wonder every one wants a little taste of it.

How wonderful! I can't wait for our fall weather to start - it's still in the 80s and 90s here in California. Doesn't usually start cooling down until mid-October. Before that, we are in fire season!! Thank you so much for your kind words on my blog. This past month has been a blur. We miss Dad and it's hard to watch Mom trying to find her way in this new life. But she's stronger than she thinks and she'll figure it out sooner or later. BYU's recent victories against Nebraska and Idaho helped cheer her up a little. Now if only we could Hail Mary our way into a victory against UCLA this Saturday! I won't hold my breath, but it would be a tender mercy!

Oh yum.. and you give me the idea to make some chili. I have some ground chicken and the beans and .. yeah, chili it is. Thanks for that. Now if only someone would bake me an apple pie. ;) Everything looks scrumptious.

So sorry to hear about Squeak. I had noticed a few times how very much she and my Zephyr looked alike. And thank you kindly for your warm words on my blog. Big hugs to you, sweet YaYa.

That's a beautiful apple pie and I'd bet it tasted as good as it looked. What a woman - pickin' the apples and cookin' up in a pie. Fall looks beautiful in your area.
