My dad died when I was 10, he was 63, still too young to die, but to me he seemed really old. He used to rock on our old rocking chair and sing old Swedish songs to me. He didn't think I was too old to rock. He also used to tell me stories about when he was young..the only one I can remember was about how he used to ice skate on the lake when it froze. How I wish I had that old rocker. I don't know where the heck it went.

I almost hate to ask you, but would you send me the recipe for that yummy sounding dessert? Then I will give you my honest opinion. All I know is that I love Baklava. I've had a recipe for that for quite a few years. I wonder if yours is similar. I got the recipe when I was a Relief Society teacher(Social Relations) years ago when our lessons were on foreign countries. I used to make a dish from each country for everyone to taste. I was a very popular teacher and I always wondered whether the reason I had such a large turnout was because I gave such great lessons, or was it the food......hummm, yes I wonder.

I wish we could have started watching Downton Abbey when it first started. We heard it was such a great show, so we tuned in, but we didn't know anything about it and we just couldn't get all the characters figured out so we stopped. That was some time ago last year. Maybe the episode we watched wasn't one of the best ones. I suppose we could get copies of all the old ones but I just can't imagine watching three years worth all at once. I guess we could spread it out. I'll have to talk to Dick about it.

This is getting too long, as usual. Sorry...........

Darlenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16797132860053426517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1948073544976029742.post-85404191305144850782013-02-19T22:22:36.586-05:002013-02-19T22:22:36.586-05:00Jilda and I love the Brits. We just never knew the name of it. My DH and I are very addicted to DA and also can't wait for season 4. Your co-workers are very lucky to have you baking and bringing such goodies to work. I love, love Greek food, especially when I can't pronounce the name, lol... I actually make spanakopita especially when I have lots of fresh spinach in the garden.

My friends was married to a Greek and she made some awesome dishes. Also every time they went to Montreal they would bring me tons of all kind of sinful deserts.

I'm one of the very few who didn't watched DA so I can't comment on it.

My, your dad was a handsome guy and it's so sad that you lost him so young. Hopefully, the writers will come up with something to cheer us all up for Season 4. I can't believe how long the wait is!
Your dessert sounded so good! I used to work with an Indian lady who made an Indian sweet using Cream of Wheat and it was delicious so I'm sure yours is too.
